About this Retreat
Hi, I'm Juan Carlos Herrman. I tell you my story. I was born in Venezuela in 1979. My life took me down different paths where curiosity and mystery guided me. In 2010 I met my teacher in the knowledge of plants. Taita Oscar from the Cofan tribe. Taita Oscar is the nephew of Taita Querubín, the highest authority of the Cofan people and a living legend in the world of Amazonian medicine. Hand in hand with him, we have spent more than a decade learning his ways, his traditions, his medicine and helping to heal the world one cup at a time.
The path that fell to me was that of a medicine musician, or a ceremony musician. For years I have been learning the use of music as a means of healing while I have been applying tools of gestalt psychotherapy and gnostic psychoanalysis, which I learned, studied and taught for 15 years. All these tools have allowed me to reach hundreds of people from all over the world and help them heal their life processes through Amazonian medicine.
Medicine is not a magic formula. It requires your commitment and sincerity. It also requires that you have an open mind and heart, so that you can understand your life and your processes in the most natural and sincere way possible. By transforming our way of seeing things, we change our world and healing becomes possible. For that, we must first heal our body, detoxify it, and that is where the medicine of the jungle helps us immeasurably.
During these thirteen years we have seen all kinds of processes. Healings that could be seen as miraculous, and lost cases. Anyway, we've seen it all, but we're still learning. As the jungle elders say, "Life is a continuous learning process, and we only stop learning when we return to the common parent."
I hope with all my heart that if you decide to come with us, you come with an open heart so that you can not only heal your body, but also your soul, your mind and your emotions. So you can reach your full potential as a member of our human race.
