A Celebration of Advent O’s

Nancy Y. Sheridan is a member of the Congregational Leadership Team of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, an international group of women religious. She is a spiritual director and supervisor of spiritual directors having spent eight years on the staff of the Center for Religious Development in Cambridge. She has been a staff member at Eastern Point Jesuit Retreat House where she directed eight and thirty-day retreats and reinvigorated the weekend and Triduum ministries there. Presently she is a supervisor to a group of Jewish spiritual directors in training and is also involved in a national ministry of Preaching the Just Word in conjunction with the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown. Nancy has extensive national and international experience with Ignatian spirituality both within the Roman Catholic tradition and ecumenically.

Dr. Nicki Verploegen is Co-Founder of TATENDA International, a nonprofit which cares for caregivers worldwide through retreats and pastoral visits. Originally from Montana, Nicki grew up under the Big Sky and has allowed her passion for the world to carry her to over 50 countries . She has a Ph.D. in spirituality and served for eight years as Director of Spiritual and Ministerial Development at Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge, MA. She trained students in spiritual direction at the University of Mount Saint Joseph. Her books on spirituality through Wipf and Stock include Planning and Implementing Retreats: A Parish Handbook., Organic Spirituality: A Sixfold Path for Contemplative Living, Meditations With Merton, and From Monks to Missioners.
