About this Retreat
Your Guides
Vicky Curtiss is the Program Director for Siena Retreat Center, which involves leading retreats, arranging for programs, and offering spiritual guidance. She has an M. Div. from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and served the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for forty years as an ordained clergy in the roles of pastor, spiritual director, and presbytery executive. She has also been the director of three faith-based non-profit organizations. Vicky has been trained as a spiritual director, SoulCollage® facilitator, labyrinth facilitator, grief support companion, and grief coach. Vicky has also been a consultant to many organizations for envisioning and discernment which she included in a booklet she authored called "Guidelines for Communal Discernment." Vicky loves reading, theater, quilting, being in nature, and engaging in anti-racism work.

Come away for a sacred time apart from your daily routine to renew your spirit and rest from everyday demands.
Retreatants will gather together for opening and closing reflections led by Vicky Curtiss. In between, each person will spend personal time as they wish in silence and solitude. Options include walks along the lakeshore or the labyrinth outdoors, enjoying art supplies in the Creativity Room, silent reflection in the Meditation Room, journaling, reading, or resting in your private bedroom while someone else does the cooking. You can also arrange for a one-hour session with a spiritual guide for an additional fee.

Accommodation
Siena Retreat Center has 67 private bedrooms with private bath facilities. Linens and towels are provided. We ask that silence be kept on bedroom floors. There are rooms with one twin bed, two twin beds and with queen-size beds. Only one person is assigned to a room unless you request to share. Siena Retreat Center has elevator access to all floors. Retreatants have access to a small prayer/meditation room, the outdoor labyrinth, washing machine and dryer on each floor, and Creativity Room with a variety of art supplies. In good weather, it is possible to walk the grounds (lakeshore, prairie, and woods) or sit in the screened porch or on the Memorial Patio.
