About this Retreat
Dr. Caroline Peterson has been in clinical practice for 30 years. She is a chiropractic physician, retired midwife, and former researcher. Over the years she has developed an approach to treating women's health conditions that combines functional medicine with manual hands-on therapy, energy medicine, and a mind-body emotional release therapy.
Dr. Peterson has years of experience in visceral/vascular manipulation, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release of adhesions, and chiropractic medicine. She works with the energy body templates, chakras, cordings, contracts and any aberrant patterns. She has found that many times other practitioners have not adequately evaluated and treated the visceral and vascular components of the body. These components can cause musculoskeletal care that does not respond well to chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture.
In addition to offering 10-20 hour week-long individual retreats to address specific health concerns, she also offers group retreats to explore using the chakras to heal grief, relationships, career, and life purpose.
Details of this retreat
Come to beautiful Sarasota, Florida for a healing vacation. We have a soothing sea, gentle breezes, and crystal sand.
This peaceful setting will be the perfect place for your body to unwind and prepare for the next phase of your life.
If you have chronic pain and have tried chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage with short-term benefit the muscles and joints are not your main problem, even though you feel pain there. If you medical doctor can't figure out why you have pain and all your imaging looks pretty good, it's time to try manual hands-on therapy. This type of chronic pain is often related to the visceral and vascular system, and most people don't know how to assess it or treat it with manual hands- on therapy. The other cause of chronic pain that does not respond to chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, and biomedicine is adhesions. This pain could be after a surgery, or an injury, or perhaps it came on gradually.
Dr. Caroline Peterson will treat you with manual hands-on therapy including vascular/visceral manipulation, lymphatic drainage, myofascial adhesion release, holistic pelvic care, pelvic floor therapy, craniosacral therapy, energy work, and a mind-body therapy called neuroemotional technique to address any emotional components of chronic pain.
If you have lab, be sure and upload that to your chart. Chronic pain can also be caused by inflammation and infection. If your body does not respond as expected to manual hands-on therapy, we might need to do some labs to see what else is contributing to the pain.
You will have 30-60 minute consult about your prior history, lab, and imaging.
The remaining time will primarily be spent on some form of manual hands-on therapy.
Chronic pain often will need castor oil packs in the evening to prevent pain from the treatment itself.
Sometimes we will have to give you a natural anti-inflammatory to bring down inflammation enough to be able to treat in a way that doesn't make you feel worse.
