About this Retreat

Details of this retreat

There is no particular experience to achieve.
Casa Oraya offers intimate retreats held in nature, with small groups and time to rest, observe, feel and simply be. Rather than filling the days with activities, we intentionally leave space around the ceremonies — space for silence, conversation, walking, nourishment, contemplation and whatever may need to unfold.
At the heart of the retreat are plant medicine ceremonies held with care, presence and respect.
We do not measure the depth of an experience by how spectacular it feels. Presence allows us to meet what arises fully — sometimes gently, sometimes with great intensity.
Every journey is different. Sometimes something profound moves. Sometimes the experience is quiet. It may bring clarity, discomfort, tenderness, resistance, joy, grief, memories, sensations or simply rest.
Our role is not to tell you what your experience means. It is to create the conditions in which you can meet it as safely, honestly and fully as possible.
A small and human space
Casa Oraya deliberately works with intimate groups.
For us, intimacy matters. It allows us to know the people travelling with us, remain attentive to individual needs and preserve a sense of home rather than the atmosphere of a large retreat centre.
We share meals, sit together, walk, speak when words are needed and respect silence when they are not.
The retreat is not only what happens during ceremony. Very often, something important unfolds in the spaces between.
Preparation, ceremony and integration
We consider preparation and integration to be part of the journey itself.
Before joining us, every participant has an individual conversation with us. This allows us to learn about your personal situation, intentions, previous experiences, physical and emotional health, medications and anything else that may be important for us to know.
Preparation begins before arrival, through practical guidance and a period of simplifying food, habits and daily rhythm.
During the retreat, we invite participants to notice not only visions or stories, but also the body: sensations, emotions, memories, movement, resistance, dreams and the quieter elements that can easily be overlooked.
Integration begins during the retreat, not after it.
We create space from the beginning to notice, feel and gradually live with what is arising. After ceremony, there is time to return slowly. Sharing circles and individual support can help give language and context to the experience, without imposing an interpretation upon it.
We believe that meaning often reveals itself gradually, sometimes long after the ceremony has ended.
Our relationship with the medicine
We approach plant medicine with humility.
We do not believe that drinking medicine automatically makes someone wiser, healed or spiritually evolved. Medicine can open a door, illuminate something, disturb something or invite us to look differently at our lives.
What we do with that experience afterwards remains deeply personal.
For this reason, Casa Oraya does not cultivate the image of a guru or spiritual authority who holds the answers for another person.
We accompany.
We observe.
We listen.
And when guidance is needed, we offer it with the understanding that each person’s path remains their own.
A retreat rooted in everyday life
Ultimately, the intention of these retreats is not to escape ordinary life.
It is to return to it with a different quality of attention.
Perhaps with more clarity.
More tenderness toward ourselves.
A greater capacity to listen.
A renewed relationship with the body, with nature, with others, or with what truly matters.
There is no promise of transformation here.
Only an invitation to create the conditions in which something true may be heard.
To come slowly.
To meet what is already here.
And, little by little, to inhabit life more fully.

Full Program

Check in at 2:00 PM
Check out at 2:00 PM
Our days flow gently, following the rhythm of nature rather than a strict schedule.

Over four days, we will share three ayahuasca ceremonies, including two daytime ceremonies, allowing the forest, the light, and the natural world to become part of the experience.

Plant baths, consciousness workshops, individual guidance, and group integration circles will support and deepen the journey.

In between, we simply live: we share nourishing vegetarian and gluten-free meals, listen to the birds, breathe, rest, contemplate, and reconnect with the beauty of being fully present.

Every element of the retreat is designed to help you slow down, return to yourself, and feel at home within your own life again.

Arrival & Opening the Space

You will arrive on Thursday afternoon and be welcomed into Casa Oraya as you would be welcomed into a home.

Fresh fruit, dried fruit, and herbal tea will be waiting for you as you settle in and begin to slow down.

We will take time to connect individually during a one-on-one arrival session before gathering together as a group.

I will introduce the intention of the retreat, the journey ahead, and the optional plant allies available to gently support the process.

In the late afternoon or evening, we will share our first ayahuasca ceremony and begin our journey together.

The Rhythm of Our Days

Our days are simple and intentional.

For those who wish, mornings may begin with a plant purge or other supportive plant medicines.

During the retreat, we will share three ayahuasca ceremonies, including two daytime ceremonies, allowing nature itself to become part of the experience.

Between ceremonies, we explore different workshops inspired by my own path in medicine.

Sometimes we work with the inner child, sometimes with flowers, sometimes through the body, movement, or self-massage practices.

We also gather for sharing circles throughout the retreat, because integration happens together, through authentic human connection.

On Sunday, we close our journey with a cacao ceremony, a final sharing circle, and a gentle transition back into everyday life.

The retreat may end, but the integration continues.

We stay connected through a group space if the group wishes, and one week later, I reconnect individually with each participant for a personal integration session.

Great experience
I felt very safe and comfortable during the three ceremonies with Virginie and her team. For my first experience with Ayahuasca, it was ideal, as I received the support I needed and felt a sense of mutual trust.
The setting, the surroundings, the music and everything around it felt very well chosen and fitting.
All in all, it is difficult to point to specific details, because it was such a complex and almost indescribable experience. But overall, the experience really convinced me. I’m very grateful that I got to have this unforgettable experience with the group, and I would definitely do it again with Virginie and recommend her to others.
