About this Retreat
Pablo Bardales Ahuanari is a gifted indigenous Shipibo Onánya (spirit doctor, meaning “the one who has wisdom” in Shipibo) who lives the Amazon Rainforest. Pablo was born into a family of healers and trained under his parents and grandparents. He has been dieting with plants almost his entire life and has been singing in ceremony since adolescence. He lives with his wife, children, and extended family in a small Amazonian town Atalaya, where he works as a healer for locals and is building his own center.
Pablo’s name in Shipibo, Pekun Rumo, means “flowered anaconda.” He felt the call to the plants and a path of service at a young age, and the long lineage of his ancestry is felt through his presence and wisdom. Pablo is extraordinarily pure. He is humble and compassionate, and his deep connection to the plant spirit world is clear through his remarkable healing gifts and icaros that touch your heart. He is very proficient at curing both physical and energetic maladies - such as chronic illnesses, ancestral wounds, and depression. He loves to make jokes and laughs a lot, reminding us of life’s beauty and ease. He truly has a pure heart and gives thanks for this opportunity to help others.
Sage is a guide in expanding consciousness and integrating through the body, breath, and connection to Earth. For many generations, her Lusitanian and Anatolian lineages have been creating spaces so that life can flow. Sage’s initiation into the path of sacred space began when she was seeking healing for almost a lifetime of severe chronic Lyme disease, depression, and trauma. For over a decade, she has studied the transpersonal: meditation, shamanic cosmologies and medicines, depth psychology, and consciousness. She holds a BS from Georgetown University and a MA in East-West Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies, and she is trained through the Awe Foundation in Transpersonal Psychedelic Therapy with a strong focus on deep ecology and shamanic cultures. Her approach is in deep reverence for our resiliency and radically trusting in life’s initiations as the path of awakening. Through the alchemy of inner-reconciliation, we become medicine for the collective and stewards of the mystical.
Sage's work brings together modern trauma resolution science and spiritual healing. She apprentices closely under Onanyá Pablo (a Shipibo spirit doctor) and has also pilgrimaged many times over the years to learn from multiple other indigenous families of South and Central America in their ancestral lands. She has been leading international medicine retreats for over six years - both in-residence and hosting at various retreat centers. Sage is also trained in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Conscious-Connected Breathwork, Systemic Family Constellations, the Holotropic Paradigm, Axiatonal Alignment, and Ecopsychology.
With the preservation of indigenous wisdom close to her heart, she is in the process of founding a nonprofit, CAYA Fund, dedicated to supporting indigenous voices, sustainability of their ancestral lands, and healing scholarships.
Matthew is a gifted musician with over two decades of experience mastering the guitar. He was drawn to the path of ceremony to heal trauma, grief, and chronic illness experienced in his life. As he awakened on this path, he began to recover the healing wisdoms of his Mexican curandero and Native American ancestors. He brings this connection into his work, especially through tobacco clearings.
Matthew provides support through the therapeutics and meditation of music, as he is fascinated in the vibratory nature of existence. Vibration is everything: it is what we are made of, it is in us and all around us.
Alongside sacred sound, the practices of yoga, breathwork, and holistic health have been transformative in his life. Matthew's education in ecology and physics inform his focus on connecting the art and science of healing and consciousness evolution.
Matthew is a truly gifted musician who has recorded with leading artists in the world of medicine music. He channels the pure spirit of spontaneity in his devotion to sacred sound, healing, and beauty.

Join us in Sama Nete - the world of the Master Plant Dieta. For an intensive and traditional medicine experience, we invite those serious on their path to join us for an integrative Master Plant Dieta program. In collaboration with our Onanya Pablo and his extended family of shamanic healers and herbalists, we offer an integrative program to support you in preparation and integration. Depending on your intentions and symptoms, you will be prescribed a Master Plant to take daily during the dieta. Our days are spent primarily in isolation, and our facilitators support you emotionally and spiritually during this deep time. Our nights are spent merging with the forest and sitting with Ayahuasca every other night. Throughout your process, our maestros and maestras guide your consciousness and work with vapor baths, flower baths, mapacho, ikaros, and more. We are living in a natural pharmacy with a master who understands its language, and so whatever comes up, we work with. Depending on the moment we visit, we might be in ceremony with Shipibo people, babies, children, elderly - we immerse into the ways of this community.
This experience returns us to health and balance as we immerse in Shipibo culture with a medicine family. This land is powerfully magical. It is completely owned and operated by a Shipibo family, which is very unusual in the Ayahuasca-tourism world. We are learning from the food they serve us, the ways they hold us, the language, the trees, the river, the symphony of insects and birds, the wind, the slow pace - all the ways this land and the family teach us deep ecology.
The dieta is especially aimed for people with chronic illness or those who are interested in going deeper/studying with plant medicine and the forest technologies. In dietas, we are allying with a doctor plant to heal and learn. It is an experience that will change your life forever.

What is a Master Plant Dieta?
The dieta process is deep and a very serious undertaking. Shipibo shamans work very traditionally in an alliance with plants that they consider teachers and friends. It is an immense privilege to be under the care of such a healer as Onanya Pablo. Unlike singular Ayahuasca ceremonies, this traditional addition of a master plant takes us deeper to learn and heal. Master plants teach us shamanic arts - as we learn to heal ourselves, we carry this wisdom in our subtle body throughout life in a way that supports the healing of others
