About this Retreat
Wilma, now 57, started at a very young age with her father. She became a famous shaman at 26. Now with 30 years of experience, she knows many diets. She originated from the Ucayali river in Pucallpa (7 days from Iquitos). Her culture is from the Shipibo-Conibo tribe.
She has been working with different kind of diseases with love. She uses all medicinal plants in the most respectful ethnobiological way. She deeply understands participants and guides them through the ceremonies.
Miguel and Virginia, married for 40 years, belong to the Shipibos tribe, long-established indigenous people along the Ucayali River, from Pucallpa in the Amazon rainforest in Peru. Their community is San Francisco. They practice ayahuasca medicine work together and have great knowledge of plants. They live on a diet of fish, yuca and fruits.
Miguel learnt from 9 years old with his father, and started helping babies at 16. He cured stronger diseases like cancer at 20. Now he is 60.
Virginia is a great artist, painting blankets, napkings, clothes, and selling them on the market. Her inspirative artistic tradition also includes medicine songs. She has been a great shaman, especially for female patients, since she was 22. She learned from her mother from a very young age.
Miguel and Virginia speak only the local dialect, but Dany will help translate in Spanish or English.
Don Leo belongs to a tribe called Aguaruna, one of the 250 tribes in the Amazon rainforest, in Peru, close to Equador (rive Naple). He is 56 years old, and started being a shaman in the belly of his pregnant mother, who also was a shaman. He always helped his father taking care of all the sick members of the family. He officially became a shaman at 18. He progressively widened his knowledge to many medicinal plants.
He speaks local language but Dany will help translate in Spanish or English.
