Why Not Sing? A Weekend Immersion in Community Singing

When you get up in the morning, why not sing?
When you’re sitting down for dinner, why not sing?
When your heart is full of grief, you could find some relief
If you sing, why not sing?

                                                            - Barbara McAfee

Singing is an ancient and powerful way for a group of “me’s” to become a “we.”
Oral tradition singing – taught call and response with no music to read – allows everyone to find the joy of harmony without having to know a thing about music theory.

You’ll also have the opportunity to open up your voice to more power, flexibility, and pleasure by exploring Barbara’s Five Elements Framework – a playful tool she created for helping people find their voice, whatever that means to them.

If you’re worried about your voice being “good enough,” you can set that down. This kind of singing is accessible to even the shyest singers and Barbara has a gift for creating a space that’s welcoming to all, regardless of their experience.

Come soak in this bath of simple, nourishing songs.
Gather a few to take home to your families and communities.
Join with others in the spirit of deep play.
Remember how good it is to be together.

Excellent leadership. Well-paced. Community building. Beautiful setting. Gardening built into the weekend. Sessions were intimate and creative, especially appreciated the collective dream work. Another good fit for the entire program. Thanks to the Kirkridge Community.

very wet wild church!
So I showed up for a very wet Wild Church on Wed. April 3-- and it was great!

What sweet, caring people! What a nice, thoughtful, short & compelling worship service- also wet!

What a nice, simple - but yummy- covered dish supper, to boot!

And what a nice, warm and dry night's stay afterwards at an extremely affordable price!

The best simple evening I've had in a long time. I will do it again. You should, too!
