About this Retreat
Corey Martin is a Yale-trained family physician driven to change the delivery of healthcare and improve the mental and physical health of our communities. He is a founder of
Innovations in Resilience and the
Bounce Back Project, a practicing private group physician, Bush Fellow, and a consultant to many healthcare and educational organizations in their response to clinician burnout. Driven to do this work by the loss of two colleagues and friends, Corey strives to create an environment of opportunity in which all of us can do the deep, heartfelt work of changing the way we show up and interact in each other’s lives.
One of the ways he does this is by facilitating resilience retreats across the United States and throughout the world. He is both a Certified Daring Way Facilitator and Center for Courage & Renewal Facilitator and facilitates workshops based on the work of Brené Brown and Parker Palmer. In his free time, he enjoys working on his farm which he has recently turned into an event center. He lives in Maple Lake, MN with his three daughters. He is a recovering perfectionist and an aspiring “good enoughist”.
As an individual, Mary strives to be a catalyst for change. She strongly believes in moving towards purpose and meaning by avoiding the focus on what people don't want. Her superpower lies in emotional intelligence (EQ). Mary possesses the ability to quickly understand the motivations, energies, processes, and needs of people, enabling a fulfilling and satisfying life.
Mary's expertise lies in generating momentum. She leads with infectious energy and an open heart, strengthening relationships and propelling progress. Mary specializes in developing and conducting courses that lead to lasting transformation.
With over 25 years of experience, Mary has worked with individuals striving for excellence in both personal and professional lives. At Innovations in Resilience, they understand the tremendous value of working within a retreat community. They also recognize the impact of one-on-one sessions following their retreats, which can be truly empowering.
Through a diverse range of experiences, including traditional business environments, personal retreats, and one-on-one work, Mary has gained a unique advantage that has contributed to her own growth and understanding. Her ultimate goal is to dismantle the narratives that keep problems in place, hindering fulfillment, satisfaction, and self-nurturing.

Love, Money & the Stories That Run Your Life - Maple Lake, MN
August 20–21, 2026
What if the life you’re trying to create is being shaped, quietly and consistently, by patterns you’re not even aware of?
Money is rarely just about money. It’s about the beliefs you picked up early about security, worth, success, and control…and how those beliefs show up in your decisions, your relationships, and the way you move through the world.
This retreat is an invitation to step out of autopilot and into awareness. To explore how your relationship with money is deeply intertwined with how you show up in your relationships, your decisions, and your sense of worth. If you want to create a life that feels more aligned: financially, relationally, emotionally, this is where that work begins.
Set in the grounded, intimate setting of the Cadillac Ranch Retreat Center, this experience gives you the space to slow down, reflect, and see more clearly what’s been running the show. Through a rhythm of direct teaching, guided reflection, and real conversation, you’ll move beyond insight alone and into practical change.
Drawing from the work of Brené Brown, Joe Dispenza, Brad Klontz, Sonya Lutter, and the Center for Courage & Renewal, we explore the intersection of financial behavior, emotional patterns, and relational dynamics.
Because when you change how you show up with money, you change how you show up everywhere.
You’ll leave with greater clarity, practical tools, and a more grounded way of making decisions. One that isn’t driven by fear, avoidance, or the need to “look good,” but by intention, abundance, and alignment.

TENTATIVE DAILY SCHEDULE
Day One: Your Money Story & The Patterns Beneath It
Thursday, August 20 | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
We begin by getting underneath the surface of your financial life—past budgets, past strategies, past “trying harder”—and into the stories that actually drive your behavior.
Through a mix of teaching, reflection, and real conversation, you’ll explore the beliefs you picked up early about money, success, and worth—and how those beliefs quietly shape your decisions and relationships today.
We’ll dive into:
Your money story and where it came from
Inherited beliefs and “truths” from family, culture, and early experiences
How expectations and autopilot patterns create frustration and disconnection
The role of fear, control, and the need to “look good” in financial decision-making
This is the foundation. Once you see the pattern, you can’t unsee it, and that’s where change begins.
5:30–9:00 PMImmediately following the workshop, we’ll host a relaxed, joy-filled gathering for all past Bounce Travels retreat participants. Expect meaningful conversation, shared laughter, food, music, beverages and plenty of connection as we gather under the Minnesota sky. This event is optional but warmly encouraged—because retreat community doesn’t end when the plane lands.
Day Two: Interrupting Patterns & Creating Something Different
Friday, August 21 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
Day Two is where we shift from awareness into application.
Now that you’ve identified the patterns, we focus on what it actually looks like to change them—in your finances, your relationships, and your day-to-day decisions.
We’ll explore:
How to interrupt automatic behaviors and make more intentional choices
Navigating money conversations with more clarity and less reactivity
The connection between financial patterns and relational dynamics
Moving from fear, avoidance, and control → toward alignment and intention
Practical tools to help you create lasting change (not just a temporary “retreat high”)
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how you operate—and a set of tools to start doing things differently right away
