What would it look like to create a life that truly reflects who you are and what matters most to you? We spend so much of our lives doing what is expected of us. Building careers, caring for others, meeting responsibilities, and checking the boxes of what a successful life is supposed to look like. Somewhere along the way, it's easy to lose sight of what actually brings us joy, meaning, and fulfillment. What would it look like to step away from the noise, question some of those old stories, and get intentional about the life you want to create?
Join us for an extraordinary week in Antigua, Guatemala, where we'll explore these questions together against the backdrop of towering volcanoes, colorful colonial streets, rich Mayan traditions, and a culture that invites us to slow down and see the world differently.
Drawing from the work of Brené Brown, Parker Palmer, and other thought leaders, we'll explore the beliefs, expectations, and patterns that may be keeping us from living more fully. Through meaningful conversations, personal reflection, adventure, and connection with an incredible community of fellow travelers, we'll begin to imagine what's possible when we stop living on autopilot. This isn't about fixing yourself or becoming someone different. It's about reconnecting with who you are, getting clear about what matters most, and creating the courage to live a life that reflects those values. And along the way, we'll hike a volcano, explore the remarkable beauty of Guatemala, experience its people and culture, and make memories and friendships that last long after we return home.
Is This Retreat for You?

DAILY ITINERARY
October 23: Welcome to Guatemala
Arrive in Guatemala City and settle into the AC Hotel in beautiful Ciudad Cayalá, a vibrant neighborhood filled with restaurants, shops, and inviting places to explore. Relax, enjoy the surroundings, and get ready for an extraordinary week ahead!
October 24: The Stories We Carry — Antigua Guatemala
What stories have shaped the life you're living? Our first morning together will explore the beliefs, expectations, and experiences that have shaped who we are. Through meaningful conversations and reflection, we'll begin identifying the stories that serve us well and those that may be holding us back from the life we desire.
In the afternoon, we'll travel to Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by majestic volcanoes. We'll settle into the beautiful Porta Hotel Antigua, explore the city's colorful colonial streets and historic landmarks, and gather for dinner at AQUA, overlooking Antigua's rooftops.
October 25: Letting Go — Community and Connection
What are you holding onto that no longer serves you? Our morning sessions will explore perfectionism, shame, grief, and forgiveness, inviting us to recognize the expectations and old stories we may be ready to release. We'll consider what it means to let go, not to erase the past, but to create space for something new.
In the afternoon, we'll visit Common Hope, a nonprofit working alongside Guatemalan families to expand educational opportunities. We'll learn about the organization's inspiring work and the resilience of the communities it serves. Tonight, we'll gather for dinner at Frieda's, beneath Antigua's iconic Santa Catalina Arch.
October 26: Boundaries and Courage — Pacaya Volcano
Where do you need to choose differently? Creating a life aligned with our values takes courage. This morning, we'll explore boundaries, expectations, and the places where we may be saying yes when we really mean no. What might change if we began choosing courage over comfort?
In the afternoon, adventure awaits as we hike Pacaya Volcano, exploring dramatic volcanic landscapes and breathtaking mountain views. Depending on conditions, we may even roast marshmallows using the earth's natural heat! Horseback assistance is available for an additional fee. We'll return to Antigua for dinner at the beautiful Casa Santo Domingo.
October 27: Listening to Your Inner Wisdom — Art, Nature & Antigua
What do you already know but haven't been willing to acknowledge? This morning, we'll experience Clearness Committees, inspired by Parker Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal. Through deep listening and open, honest questions, we'll create space to discover the wisdom and answers we already carry within us.
Afterward, we'll enjoy lunch at Tenedor del Cerro, a spectacular hilltop restaurant overlooking Antigua's volcanoes. Explore the surrounding sculpture gardens and art museum before enjoying a free afternoon to wander Antigua, relax by the pool, or indulge in a massage. Tonight, we'll gather at Antigua Cerveza El Bosque, a charming open-air brewery surrounded by lush gardens, for delicious food, locally crafted beer, and great conversation.
October 28: Designing an Intentional Life — Rest and Rejuvenation
What would a life aligned with your values actually look like? Today, we'll turn our attention toward the future. What brings you joy, meaning, and purpose? Through reflection and practical exercises, we'll begin envisioning a life that reflects what matters most—not someday, but right now.
Following our morning sessions, we'll stroll to Caoba Farms, a beautiful organic farm surrounded by lush gardens, for a fresh farm-to-table lunch. The afternoon is yours to explore Antigua, enjoy a massage, relax by the pool, or simply do nothing at all. Tonight, we'll come together for a memorable Guatemalan cooking class, preparing traditional dishes while sharing stories, laughter, and wonderful food.
October 29: Moving Forward — Bringing It All Home
What are you willing to change when you return home? Our final morning will focus on turning insight into action. We'll reflect on what we've discovered, what we're ready to leave behind, and the small, meaningful changes that can help us create a life with greater joy, purpose, and intention.
In the afternoon, we'll return to Guatemala City for our final night at the AC Hotel in Ciudad Cayalá., with its wonderful restaurants, cafés, and shops.
For those joining our optional Lake Atitlán extension, the adventure continues!
October 30: Departure Day
After a week of reflection, adventure, meaningful conversations, and new friendships, it's time to head home. Depart at your leisure, carrying new perspectives, lasting memories, and perhaps a little more clarity about the life you want to create.
EXTEND YOUR JOURNEY: LAKE ATITLÁN
Optional Extension | October 29 – November 1, 2027
$600 Shared Room | $900 Single Room
Why end the adventure when there's still so much of Guatemala to discover?
For those who want to extend their journey, join us for two unforgettable nights at Lake Atitlán, one of the most breathtaking destinations in Central America. Surrounded by towering volcanoes, lush mountains, and charming Mayan villages, this spectacular lake offers the perfect setting to slow down, explore, and soak in the beauty of Guatemala. As our main retreat concludes on October 29, we'll travel from Antigua to Lake Atitlán, approximately two to three hours away.
Each village surrounding the lake has its own unique character, from colorful artisan markets and rich Mayan traditions to peaceful waterfront cafés and lively restaurants. Spend your days kayaking, hiking to spectacular viewpoints, exploring lakeside villages by boat, enjoying yoga overlooking the volcanoes, or experiencing a traditional cacao ceremony. For the adventurous, there may even be opportunities for cliff jumping! Or perhaps your ideal afternoon involves nothing more than a hammock, a good book, and an incredible view of the lake.
Each morning, we'll gather in the gardens overlooking the lake for a relaxed, one-hour reflection session. Through meaningful conversation, quiet reflection, and connection, we'll create space to deepen the insights from our retreat and begin each day with intention. The rest of the day is yours to explore, relax, and enjoy this extraordinary setting at your own pace. This extension is intentionally more flexible, offering the perfect balance of continued personal growth, adventure, and time to simply be.

An Expanding Exploration retreat is designed for those ready to look more closely at the patterns, beliefs, and experiences shaping how they live and relate to others. Whether you’re building on previous personal growth work or returning to it with new questions, you’ll explore identity, relationships, values, and what may be getting in your way. Through focused reflection, honest conversation, practical tools, and supportive community, we help one another turn fresh insight into intentional action and create meaningful momentum for continued growth.

You may prefer different depths at different times, return to the same level repeatedly, or choose a gentler experience after completing a more intensive one. Select the experience that best matches the depth, challenge, and support you desire right now
