About this Retreat
Allow me to introduce Luis Rimachi, a 60-year-old healer whose roots trace back to the Aguaruna-Awajun tribe, nestled deep within the heart of the Amazon rain forest. For over four and a half decades, Luis has immersed himself in the profound wisdom of traditional Amazonian healing practices, honing his expertise in the intricate knowledge of medicinal plants, potent insects, sacred frogs, mystical mushrooms, and the abundant wildlife that thrives in the lush Amazonian ecosystem.
Driven by a profound sense of duty to his people and a deep reverence for the natural world, Luis has dedicated his life to preserving and sharing the traditional wisdom of his ancestors. Through his healing work, Luis offers solace and restoration to those in need, drawing upon his vast reservoir of knowledge and the spiritual guidance of his forebears.

Meet Anderson Manihuari, Luis Rimachi's son-in-law and one of his most dedicated and attentive students. Deeply influenced by the ancestral wisdom of his father-in-law, Anderson has dedicated his life to honouring and preserving the healing traditions of the Amazon.
With an open mind and a receptive heart, Anderson has explored the process of integration between traditional Amazonian medicine and the Western context. Through his experience and experimentation, he has sought to find a harmonious balance between these two perspectives, recognising the importance of both on the path to holistic health and wellness.
A devoted student, Anderson has eagerly absorbed the teachings of Luis Rimachi, learning not only the secrets of medicinal plants and sacred rituals, but also the values of humility, respect and connection with nature that are fundamental to the practice of healing in the Amazon.

Do you know that having palm roofs, as is traditional in Amazon, requires cutting an adult palm tree? Roofing a retreat like ours requires cutting a minimum of 80 mature palm trees and the roof needs to be replaced every 3 years! In the past it was sustainable to use palm trees, but now that the use and abuse of palm trees for "tourism" purposes has led to the decimation of the palm forests, we use durable tin roofing. Our retreat is comfortable, clean and with well-appointed facilities.

What's Not Included
- Personal items: Toiletries, mosquito repellent (bring one with natural ingredients), clothing and other personal items, however toilet paper and hand soap are included.
- Alcohol and recreational drugs: Alcohol and recreational drugs are not permitted.
- Air travel expenses
- Medical insurance: Participants are responsible for obtaining adequate medical insurance for the duration of the program.
- Souvenirs or gifts: The purchase of souvenirs, handicrafts or gifts from local vendors is not included in the program price.
- Private excursions: Any additional excursions or activities outside of the scheduled program will incur additional costs.
- Additional Healing Modalities: While integration support is provided, healing modalities or therapies in addition to those offered in the program require a separate fee.
- Cancellation insurance: Participants are responsible for taking out their own cancellation insurance in case they are unable to attend the program.
- Gratuities: Gratuities for staff members or facilitators are not included in the program fees and are at the discretion of the participants.
- Additional nights of stay: Additional nights spent beyond the duration of the program require a separate payment.
- Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses, such as telephone calls, laundry services or additional snacks and beverages, are not covered by the program fee.
