Where preparation is essential for maximizing the potential of a psychedelic retreat, integration is important for prolonging the benefits. You will witness a new self, yet an old similar world. While a psychedelic retreat can offer a potentially otherwise unrivaled window of opportunity in the short term, whether this translates into lasting habits depends on integration. How to move from the potential you’ve experienced, into the actuality of your day to day life?

I compare Confluence to the best experiences I have had at Esalen
Confluence filled my requirements for a positive set and setting for my first psychedelic experience.
Meeting Myles via Zoom months before I would travel to Oregon was very helpful. Over those months it became clear to me that a group experience afforded much more than a second psychedelic opportunity. Three Zoom sessions with the group before meeting in person allayed any fears that the setting would not meet my expectations. I knew that my first journey would be among friends with a leader I could trust.

Contemplating a psychedelic journey can be daunting, possibly overwhelming. Being with others who are seeking greater depth in their lives was helpful for me, encouraged me to be vulnerable, allowed me to dig deeply into my struggles with old self destructive habits.

I am very grateful for the efforts of Myles and his team, to permit a voyage of self-discovery. As profound as my time was at Confluence, the subtle shift in my perception of myself remains with me. I compare Confluence to the best experiences I have had at Esalen. The quality of food and accommodations rival that storied place, the camaraderie exceeding the joyful experiences I have had at Esalen.

The structure of the retreat & level of support & facilitation provided was incredible!
I was interested in the retreat experience to help find some clarity in my life on making a decision that felt like an important crossroads in life. I had experiences with psilocybin in my youth that were quite transformative to my life’s vision, but was very interested in the benefits of the facilitated approach. Even before arriving at the retreat Confluence made us feel safe, supported & understood. It felt like really having a great partner to dive into the deep end with! This continued throughout the retreat experience & this support from the facilitators, paired with the value of having a group to share with throughout the experience, breathwork sessions, & downtime in a magical setting in the forest & mountains was such a wonderful combination. The organizers of the retreat really put a lot of thought & care into structuring the program which made such a huge difference in the overall experience! Ultimately, the experience really helped me to get to the core of the issue I was facing, helping me bring some clarity to disparate & sometimes contradictory feelings, and draw some interesting connections across areas I didn’t even realize were interrelated. The journalling exercises & conversations with the facilitators between & after sessions really helped me to make sense of my experiences in a way that might not have been so clear on my own or without the time, space & support the longer retreat provided. After the retreat, I have already started taking steps in real life to put into practice some of my realizations & feel much more empowered & confident in my ability to do so! For anyone considering this type of experience I could not recommend Confluence more highly!

For me, it has been the start of a new chapter and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
I came to Confluence Retreats after a long period of depression and anxiety, feeling like it was a last-ditch effort to find relief. Although I had researched and grown mushrooms myself, I was too anxious to try them beyond microdosing. After a personal and incredibly painful loss, I needed something to shift my perspective. The retreat’s immersive nature setting and the support from Myles and the team made all the difference. Their reassurance, including a doctor consultation, eased my health concerns, and by the time I arrived in Ashland, I already felt a sense of calm. The natural environment and Myles’ attentive care helped me feel truly ready for the journey.

During the journey, an estranged friend kept coming to my mind. I hadn't realized how deeply this estrangement had affected me until that moment. After the retreat, I reached out, and reconnecting with them has enriched my life in ways I can’t fully describe. This experience also opened the door for me to reconnect with other friends, while also opening possibilities for my future that I never would have considered.

Before the retreat, I couldn’t imagine a future where I felt fulfilled. I couldn’t even imagine a future where I existed. But now, while I still have work to do and healing to continue, I feel like my head is above water. That alone has been life-changing.

I would recommend this retreat to anyone feeling helpless or worthless. It's not a magic cure, and it requires effort and commitment to the process, but it does offer a powerful shift in perspective.

I owe Myles, the entire Confluence Retreat staff, and my fellow group members a very deep-felt Thank You for helping me to take the first big steps to a new life full of joy and happiness.
I attended the Confluence psilocybin retreat in Oregon in June of 2024. I had been on antidepressants for 20 years and despite having 5 beautiful children and a loving wife I had not felt joy in my life in as many years. As a practicing primary care physician for the past 30 years, I have treated thousands of patients with medications for depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders. Although the medications are often effective at reducing symptoms, they do not lead to full remission and side effects are common. I reviewed the science behind the psychedelic treatment of depression and looked at many different options to experience it for myself. I wanted to get off my antidepressant and experience joy, gain insight into how to be more mentally present in the moment with my wife and kids, and find a way back to my old self.

From my first phone call meeting with Myles, I knew a group retreat under his experienced and dedicated guidance at Confluence would be the safest and best option. Our small group spent 4 nights in the mountains outside Ashland, Oregon. The beautiful scenery itself was therapeutic. Immersed in nature with a structured program and supportive group, the retreat included 2 psilocybin journeys on separate days, which made all the difference.

During my second psilocybin treatment, I experienced an overwhelming sense of joy. Sitting under multiple blankets, on a wooden deck overlooking a small garden, I began to cry while staring at beautiful visions of shimmering colors and shapes in the sky. Not a gentle trickle of tears, but a chaotic uncontrollable waterfall, interspersed with deep sighs and few if any thoughts. For once I was feeling, not just thinking. I cried for 40 minutes, not because I was sad, but because feeling joy in that moment made me realize how much joy I had missed in my life.

The preparatory, meditation, breathwork, and especially the integration sessions after the psilocybin treatments, were indispensable to helping me understand the "set and setting" for my experience and to connect with others and myself.

It has been 3 months now since my journey began. I remain off any antidepressant ( I stopped taking it just before the retreat), continue to communicate and share my journey with Myles and the others in my group, and truly feel like my brain has been reset. I discovered a new guiding philosophy for my life: "Feel More, Think Less".

I recommend Myles highly
Myles was a thoughtful facilitator who handled my experience with compassion and empathy. I learned a lot about myself and kept learning a few months later. He listened and helped me walk through my response. He helped me see how it was related to a traumatic incident and gave me valuable advice.
