A Life Changing Retreat
2025 was the year I decided to make whole-sale changes to my life. At age 60, when my career pretty much died overnight, I discovered a whole new life and experiences. Taking a leap, I decided to move to Europe. At the same time, coming off of a breakup, I decided to handle my inter-life too. My connection style is of the anxious variety and I wanted to shift it to something more stable. I wanted to break the hex of codependency, which I finally realized I consistently invited into my life. My friend shared how much she got out of her Eleusinia retreat so I decided to take the plunge and signed up to attend the early March retreat of 2026.
I didn’t know what to expect and I went into the process focussing on myself. At first, it was hard to grant myself permission to be catered to and taken care of (something that the staff of Eleusinia was great at), but once I surrendered to the process, I was excited to move forward. While I was interested in the Macrodose, I had heard so much about the DMT experience, I was curious about that too. After all was said and done, I found both experiences rewarding. Since it has only been a few days since my experience, I am still processing, but I definitely feel that I am thinking differently and better able challenge old beliefs.
Besides just the visual experience that was far beyond what I could have ever imagined from a psychedelic experience, I feel there’s been a shift in me. I can’t say there was any specific moment that was a breakthrough but I will say that the activities before, during, and after the psychedelic experiences were very impactful. I was able to experience first hand, just how much I live in fear and apprehension on a daily basis. I feel with my acknowledgement, I can and am making choices differently than I have in the past. I intend to keep up the practice.
Overall, it was a great experience beyond expectations. The staff was knowledgeable and truly cared about all of the participant’s experiences. The venue was gorgeous and provided an expansive visual feast, even more so once in the actual psychedelic experience kicked in. The retreat was informative and the support available after is phenomenal. This is the beginning of my journey and I am grateful to be introduced to this world in such an informative, caring fashion!
