Details of this retreat

Datu Wellness is a nomadic retreat concept based in Italy: Vaidya-led Ayurveda retreats held in seasonal residences, historic houses taken for a season at a time, occasionally in other countries. Each retreat runs seven nights with full board and Ayurvedic meals, five private treatments, a consultation with the resident Vaidya (Ayurvedic doctor) and daily yoga; the practitioners trained at Vaidyagrama, Ananda and Vana. Most guests arrive tired, stretched thin or at a turning point; the week is built around close, personal care as much as around the treatments. The autumn 2026 residence is a 17th-century palazzo directly on the beach at Santa Maria di Castellabate, overlooking the Amalfi Coast.

There are places that feel held outside of time, where silence lingers a little longer under a sky that does not hurry. Here, Datu arrives at a palazzo on its own stretch of coast. Framed by lush gardens that open to the horizon and shaped by sea air and sunlight, it is a place that seems to watch more than it reveals. Mornings drift in with the scent of salt and citrus; evenings soften into the hush of the tide. Nothing insists and nothing distracts.

The week is about shedding distractions until the essential surfaces. Guests receive individual consultations with seasoned Vaidyas, followed by personalised treatments: oil-based therapies, subtle bodywork and breath-led practices. Daily schedules follow a nourishing cadence, balancing structure with spaciousness; therapeutic sessions are complemented by Yoga Sadhana, art-based therapies and moments of quiet integration, whether gathered around a morning fire ritual or resting in stillness within the estate's gardens. Meals are based on Ayurvedic dietary principles but shaped by local abundance: light, clean and seasonal. Retreats are intentionally limited in size so that care remains personal rather than standardised. This is not a wellness retreat in the modern sense; it is an invitation into a slower way of being.
