Starting with time to relax in a boutique hotel in the Sacred Valley, you'll be offered a bespoke program of treatments tailored to your personal needs. Following this, we embark on a breathtaking journey through the Andes, visiting ancient Incan sites like Machu Picchu and Colcamayo, along with some hidden gems off the beaten path. From there, we travel to the birthplace of the Amazon River, concluding with the awe-inspiring landscapes of Rainbow Mountain.

Schedule

Day 1 - We will greet you at Cusco airport and take you on to your hotel in the stunning Sacred Valley, an hour away. Settle in, freshen up, and enjoy a welcome dinner with fellow travellers, our guide Evert, and the Sacred Pathways Tours and Retreat team.

Day 2 - Start your day with an optional drum circle led by Emma (drums provided). Emma and Richard will offer personalised consultations throughout the day, tailoring a program to suit your needs. Rejuvenate with daily massages, acupuncture, guided meditations, and healing practices. In the evening, we’ll gather for a evening meal, followed by a sound bath under the stars, cocoa, and storytelling around the fire with Evert.

Day 3,4 and 5 - Daily drum circle/sound bath before breakfast
The morning schedule offers options for a tour, craft/mindfulness classes, or enjoy resting at the retreat. In the afternoon we are all back at the retreat, to spend time relaxing, having treatments before Dinner and our nightly story telling and sound bath around the fire.
The craft activities are - Inca ceramics, Silver Making, Natural dying of Alpaca wool with weaving techniques, Art and Cookery classes.

Day 6 - Last drum circle in our little retreat before breakfast. We set out for Ollantaytambo station to board the glass roof train bound for Machu Picchu. When we arrive in Aguas Calientes, we will rest in our hotel before meeting for our evening meal.

Day 7 - Very early (4am approx) start, We begin our guided tour to see the sun rise over Machu Picchu, There will be time to visit all the known buildings and also explore by yourself, as well as time for meditation. In the early afternoon we return by bus to Aguas Calientes for a buffet lunch overlooking the river. In the afternoon you will have chance to rest, walk around the pedestrianised town and artisan market. we will all meet for a light supper

Day 8 - After breakfast - We take the train around the mountain to Colcamayo Hot Springs. We will have all day to soak in the healing warm waters, Shamanic healing and Acupuncture available as well as drum circle and guided meditation. Late lunch/early dinner will be at Colcamayo

Day 9 - Visit Vilcabamba, the fabled "Lost City of the Incas." Weather permitting, we will have a guided meditation or some time to relax in this special place, before heading onto Quillabamba, where an Eco Lodge awaits with a pool. Dinner is delivered to our hotel from the town. Healing, Acupuncture and Sound Bath in the evening if needed.

Day 10: We begin our journey toward Pongo de Mainique with a visit to a cocoa plantation, home to Peru's renowned chocolate. Next, we meet the Indigenous Koribeni community in the Amazon and enjoy lunch with them. We then continue to Ivochote, where our accommodation, though basic, is impeccably clean and nestled near the river in the deep jungle. Dinner will feature traditional, rustic Peruvian cuisine—simple, untouched by the West, but often incredibly delicious.

Day 11 - After a traditional rice based breakfast. We embark on a boat ride through the gorge - Mainique Pongo. Past incredible waterfalls and rock formations, we come out where in Incas believe is the birth place of the Amazon River. Here we will bless the river with a short shamanic ceremony and ask for peace and love. A traditional lunch will be waiting for us before we start the long journey back to Quillabamba.

Day 12 - Morning free to swim, read, healing or acupuncture and Sound Bath before we prepare to depart for Cusco. The landscape along the way is breathtaking, offering opportunities to stop at view points. This mountain passage holds a special place in our hearts, a hidden gem that guides us back towards the typical tourist route. Stopping in Ollantaytambo for a refreshing drink and stretch our legs before continuing our journey to Cusco. Once in Cusco we will have dinner together at our quaint, colonial style hotel.

Day 13: A day of rest. You can join an optional city tour, we will be available if you need assistance or company. However, the day is yours to spend as you wish. That evening will meet as a group and take you to a lovely, traditional restaurant we frequently use.

Day 14 - Quod bike or hiking experience at Rainbow Mountain. Including breakfast and a buffet lunch in Cusi Pata, before returning back to Cusco. Evening gathering to say goodbye.

Day 15 - Transport back to the airport

Every day in the Sacred Valley you have chance of an hour long massage, all included in the price

Hot stones are often used in the Inca massage alongside crystals.

Fly to Cusco Airport via Bogotá, Colombia, as it’s the only international flight with a direct route to Cusco.

Or to Lima International Airport, followed by a one-hour connecting flight to Cusco.

Accommodation

In the first week, our secluded retreat in the Sacred Valley offers large rooms with double beds and en-suites. As we head into the jungle, the accommodations become more simple, 5* accommodation is simply not available, however we will always choose clean and comfortable accommodation. Whenever possible, we stay in eco-lodges and boutique hotels, ensuring privacy and a unique, rustic charm for a truly different experience.
