Music Alchemy Immersion 2024

Enrique Casados Enrique engages with music understanding that sound has the power to rearrange molecular structures and uplift the vibration of the listener. It is his intention to use his music as a vehicle for healing. In bringing this knowledge and intention to the Music Alchemy Immersion, he is sharing this knowledge and intention with attendees. Enrique is a versatile guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, playing a variety of styles including; Bossa Nova, Jazz, Funk, R&B, Pop, Rock, Blues, and World Fusion. Growing up in Denver, Colorado, coming from a long lineage of musicians, music has always been a prominent part of his life. Enrique is strongly influenced by his Chicano roots and love for Motown, as well as Nada Yoga (yoga of sound) training in India, and time spent deep in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest in sacred ceremony. Enrique brings a soulful, Latin flavor combined with healing vibrations of medicinal music to engage and enchant the listener. Having played and toured internationally for over two decades, he has had the opportunity to learn and collaborate with many incredible musicians, which shines through his original music, and takes the listener on a journey around the globe

Karen is the founder and director of the Center for Sacred Ecology (once Revive Healing Arts). Equal parts soul-filled scientist, inspired educator, nature therapist, wilderness rites of passage guide and mountain medicine woman, her roots dive deep into an ever-evolving understanding of how history, heart, energy and mystery work in concert within the habitat of the human form. Karen’s attention is drawn to the subtle spaces where mind, body, spirit and stories intersect upon the unique landscape of our lives. With a 30-year career as a field biologist, restoration ecologist, environmental educator and healing arts professional, her work has flowed from the fjords of the North Atlantic, across the reefs of the Caribbean Sea, through the Peruvian Amazon and up to Costa Rica’s cloud-forested mountaintops. As a restoration specialist, she is in service to the moments life which call for soul nourishment. As a creator of courses, retreats and rites of passage experiences, we are delighted she will join us on our journey at the Music Alchemy Immersion 2024.

Sammy “Barefoot” Warren IV is an accomplished percussionist who has dedicated his life to mastering a diverse range of percussive instruments from around the world. With over two decades of experience as a professional musician, Sammy has performed with a wide ranging style of artists (including grammy award winning artists and producers) both in the studio and on the stage. Born and raised in a musical family, Sammy showed an early interest in percussion at a young age. As he grew older, he became increasingly fascinated with the rhythms and sounds of other cultures and began studying a wide variety of instruments, including drum set, marching and concert percussion, djembe, cajón, and more. Over the years, Sammy has become known for his technical skill, versatility, and ability to adapt to a wide range of musical styles. He has toured extensively throughout the United States and Central America, even competing in the International Blues Challenge, winning four regional challenges and placing in the top 40 three times. The barefoot drummer has performed with artists such as Cassie Jean & the Fireflies, Dovydas, Bryan Spainhower & Third World Ave,Luz, Ghost Mountain Revival, and many others headlining events and festivals. Recorded in 2021 and released in April 2022, the Cassie Jean & the Fireflies album, “Heart Over Head” reached the Alt. Country charts “Top 100 Albums of the Year” and the single “Tomorrow” hit the charts’s number 1 spot. In addition to his work as a performer, Sammy is also a passionate educator and has taught workshops and masterclasses on percussion around the southeastern US in public schools and privately. He is committed to sharing his knowledge and love of percussion with others and helping to inspire the next generation of musicians. His students have gone on to great success in forming their own bands, passing auditions, winning awards and competitions, and even teaching students of their own. While serving as percussion instructor and visual coordinator at OCHS in Georgia, his students have won top ratings at their most recent competitions. Inspired by music from an eclectic range of genres and eras, Warren loves listening to funk, reggae, jazz, blues, salsa, reggae, country folk, rock, pop, and classical. Some drummers that have strongly influenced his playing are Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Tony Williams, Steve, Gadd, Tito Puente, Billy Cobham, Babatunde Olatunji, Giovanni Hidalgo, Lionel Hampton, Terry Gibbs, and the list goes on. Sammy’s dedication to his craft and his deep passion for music have earned him a well-deserved reputation as one of the most talented and sought-after percussionists in the area. Whether he is performing on stage or sharing his knowledge with students, Sammy’s love of rhythm and his commitment to excellence are always evident.

Sean is a gifted multi-instrumentalist and singer from New York City, celebrated for his mastery of bass, guitar, drums, piano, and harmonica, alongside his remarkable vocal talent. A full-time professional musician, Sean has performed on the festival circuit and toured extensively along the East Coast, including a notable appearance at Carnegie Hall. His musical journey began early when he earned a full scholarship to a prestigious arts school for his singing abilities as a preteen. Since his teenage years, Sean has committed himself to his passion for music, continually inspiring fans with his artistry. In addition to his performance career, Sean is also a dedicated music teacher and vocal coach. He empowers students to discover and develop their singing potential, drawing on his extensive experience and knowledge to guide aspiring musicians. Through his teaching, he fosters a supportive environment where individuals can explore their creativity and build confidence in their abilities. Sean’s dual role as a performer and educator reflects his deep commitment to the art of music and the growth of those he mentors.

Mica Gago aka Vita Mica is a dedicated nutrition therapist and conscious chef, blending her passion for wellness with culinary art. With a deep understanding of nutrition, she empowers individuals to make informed dietary choices that nourish both body and soul. As a talented guitarist and vocalist, Mica brings creativity and joy to her work, infusing retreats with musical inspiration. Her holistic approach fosters a nurturing environment where participants can explore their well-being, creativity, and connection to food. Mica’s unique combination of skills makes her a valuable facilitator, guiding others on their journey to health and harmony.
