12 Days Private Ayahuasca Journey in Costa Rica

The environment at Madrediosa was peaceful and blissful in the jungle. It was private and I felt incredibly safe and welcome. I loved having my own space to rest, relax, shower and sleep. I was very nervous initially for the experience of plant medicine but Mar had such a sweet way of empathizing and explaining things to expect but also to have an open and let the experience be what it was meant to be. The whole theme throughout for me was letting go and releasing control. I came to Madrediosa to let go. Mar asked me to set my intentions and then led me through the ceremony, intuitively playing music, using sage, and asking questions to guide my thoughts. We even got to look at the stars on the clear night we were blessed with. The experience with the medicine was better than I imagined and gently revealed what I needed to know as I came face to face with my shadow (what I asked for). I felt cared for the entire time emotionally and physically. Mar is gentle and leads with her heart and is very loving as the plant brings up so much vulnerability.
Since my ceremony, I have opened my heart to receiving love and real connection with people. I realize the immense power in letting go of the "need" to project control over every area of my life, over circumstances I cannot control, over relationships, over events, experiences, and whatnot. I can let it be and allow the best to flow to me. From the very beginning, Mar was super accommodating and out of her way to accommodate me. She sent an amazing drone video of how to get to her place, which was super helpful. When I got to the property, I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and relaxation. The space is just very positive.

Mar was very attentive and caring and sat and talked with me on a deeper level which I enjoyed and appreciated. I was able to get some closure and grounding. I would encourage anyone who is considering staying to consider more than one session with Mar and stay at least as long as that takes.

The jungle setting is obviously very cathartic and amazing to experience all the sights and sounds. I found the accommodations to be very cozy. Mar is a wonderful host and very affordable, which is a nice option from a lot of the retreats that are on here. Not only that, but I was able to be one-on-one with Mar for our ceremony. I believe that is a much different experience for people who are on retreats with multiple people. Mar has made this type of therapy accessible for those of us with less means which is so wonderful of her.

Mar was a wonderful host and guide. She welcomed me warmly into the beautiful space. I felt very at home in the accommodations and loved the ceremonial maloka. Her strong, yet gentle presence helped me feel protected and cared for during all my experiences.

We did three kambo sessions together which she facilitated with grace and ease, even during difficult moments. During and after the sessions I felt my body get stronger. I struggled with immune issues in the past, and I feel this medicine helped my body reset to a new normal.

We had two fantastic mushroom ceremonies together. These helped me get new perspectives on my relationships, specifically to my family and the women in my life. I will never forget looking at the magical sunset surrounded by jungle trees, while listening to the birds singing.

Finally, our ayahuasca sessions together were unlike anything I had experienced before. Aya is truly a medicine for the body, mind, and soul. Aya brought me immense gratitude for my experience as a human being, as well as enabling me to tune in deeply to the present moment. MADREDIOSA is a beautiful sanctuary located in a very convenient location close to the Puerto Viejo/Cocles area.

As someone with little prior knowledge or experience with Psychadelics, Mar was very patient and accommodating to answer any and all questions about what to expect.

I also very much appreciated the level of privacy, security, and care that Mar fosters by holding a private ceremony. Mar was more than willing to provide as much or as little direct support as you completed your journey to ensure a great experience.
