Directions

By air:

Take a plane to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (廣州白雲機場), take the subway or bus to Guangzhou Tianhe Bus Terminal (廣州天河汽車客運站), and then take a bus to Longxian Town, Wengyuan County (翁源縣龍仙鎮) (3 hours by car).

Take a plane to Shaoguan Danxia Airport (韶關丹霞機場), take a bus or taxi to Shaoguan Xihe Bus Terminal (韶關西河汽車客運站), and then take a bus to Longxian Town, Wengyuan County (翁源縣龍仙鎮) (1.5 hours by car). After arriving at the Bus Terminal of Longxian Town, Wengyuan County, you can take a bus or a taxi to Donghua Chan Monastery (東華禪寺) (15 minutes by car).



By train:

Take the train to Shaoguan East Station (韶關東站) or Shaoguan Station (韶關站), take a bus or taxi to Shaoguan Xihe Bus Terminal (韶關西河汽車客運站), and then take a bus to Longxian Town, Wengyuan County (翁源縣龍仙鎮) (1.5 hours by car).

After arriving at the Bus Terminal of Longxian Town, Wengyuan County, you can take a bus or a taxi to Donghua Chan Monastery (東華禪寺) (15 minutes by car).



By bus:

Most cities in Guangdong Province (such as Shaoguan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, etc.) have coach services to Longxian Town, Wengyuan County:

• Shaoguan Xihe Bus Station—Longxian Town, Wengyuan County (1.5 hours by car)

• Guangzhou Tianhe Bus Station—Longxian Town, Wengyuan County (3 hours by car)

• Shenzhen Futian Bus Terminal—Longxian Town, Wengyuan County (4 hours by car)

• Zhuhai Xiangzhou Long-distance Bus Station—Longxian Town, Wengyuan County (4.5 hours by car)

After arriving at the Bus Terminal of Longxian Town, Wengyuan County, you can take a bus or a taxi to Donghua Chan Monastery (東華禪寺) (15 minutes by car).



By car:

You can take the Shankun Expressway (汕昆高速) and get off at the Longxian East Toll Station (龍仙東收費站), which is the closest intersection to Donghua Chan Monastery (東華禪寺).



Carpooling:

After arriving in Shaoguan (韶關), you can contact Wengyuan Anda Travels (翁源安達出行) at 0751-2822222, and carpool from your location to Donghua Chan Monastery (東華禪寺).

The "Zitai Tang" (自在堂) is also known as the Zen Hall in traditional terms, and it is sometimes referred to as the "Selection of Buddha Hall" (选佛场). It signifies a place where practitioners diligently cultivate their practice to attain great freedom and liberation. As to why the Zen halls today are no longer called "Selection of Buddha Hall" or "Zitai Hall," it is a way of showing humility.
