Details of this retreat
We invite you into a working space that differs deliberately from typical seminars or workshops. This is not about learning techniques, self-optimization, or acquiring specific methods.
At the center is the opportunity to enter a focused inner process for a limited period of time clearly guided, yet without external pressure or expectation.
The retreat is no longer offered as a continuous three-day format, but as individually bookable single days. This decision is based on a simple observation: many people prefer to explore such work without committing to several days in advance.
Each day is therefore designed to be complete in itself. There is no disadvantage in attending only one day. At the same time, the days are connected through an underlying movement: stabilization, clarification, and alignment. This sequence is not something participants are expected to “complete,” but rather a possible continuity for those who choose to return.
The work is led by Yasotha Jegathesan, author of Soul Return and founder of the Yash Foundation who combines extensive international leadership experience with a direct and experiential approach to inner work. Her method, “Soul Return,” explores identity, conditioning, and inner clarity not as theory, but as lived experience.
This collaboration also has a personal background to Dr Norbert Ammermann. During several months of his time spent in Tiruvannamalai in South India, a form of practice was encountered that is shaped less by teaching and more by direct experience. Out of this, a shared body of work has developed, expressed both in retreats and artistic projects.
Each day follows a clear structure. There are guided working phases, periods of silence, and time for individual retreat. The phases build on one another and form a coherent inner process that can be completed within a single day.
The day begins with a quiet arrival. This is followed by an initial working phase that establishes a shared orientation. From there, the process deepens, allowing personal perception and inner experience to come into focus.
After a longer period of free time which is intentionally left unstructured, a phase of integration follows. This is not about fixing or defining what has happened, but about allowing it to settle and take its place.
In the evening, the work is grounded through body, breath, and presence.
Optionally, the day concludes with a shared space of sound and voice. Heike guides simple songs and mantras, carried collectively by the group. The musical accompaniment is provided on the sitar by Dr Norbert, an Indian string instrument with a rich overtone resonance. The music arises in the moment and is not a performance, but an extension of the shared space.
Each day has a different emphasis:
The first day focuses on stabilization, arriving in the body, breath, and a calm, grounded presence.
The second day is dedicated to clarification, where patterns, relationships, and conditioning may become visible. The process is guided but remains open enough for each person to move at their own pace.
The third day centers on alignment, the question of how what has become clear can be carried forward into one’s life.
Participation takes place in a deliberately small group setting. There is no obligation to speak or to present oneself. At the same time, it is not a casual environment: participants should be willing to engage sincerely in the process for the duration of the day.
The location is the space “Garten Eden,” which offers a quiet and protected environment, though it is not centrally located. Access is typically by car. Accommodation is not provided; participants either come from the surrounding area or arrange their own stay.
Food arrangements are intentionally simple. Water, tea, and coffee are available; beyond that, participants provide for themselves.
The participation fee is €90 per day.
Registration is personal. After registration, further details regarding preparation and schedule will be provided.
This offering is intended for people who already have some experience with self-reflection or inner work and are willing to enter a clear, focused process for one day.
Following similar gatherings in India and Southeast Asia, this daily sessions aims to create a simple, open space: a time away from daily obligations, characterized by silence, thoughtfulness, sharing, and music.
These daily sessions are open to people from all backgrounds.
It requires no special knowledge and is not tied to any religious doctrine or worldview.
What is the content about?
1. When we speak of "ancestors", what do we mean?
This does not refer to genealogy in the historical sense, but rather to the awareness that every person is embedded in a complex life story. Experiences, life paths, ruptures, new beginnings, and also the strengths of previous generations often resonate into the present.
The daily sessions you choose to attend invites you to perceive this connection and to reconsider your own place within this continuity.
2. When we speak of challenging experiences - what do we mean?
In every person's life, there are times of upheaval, loss, being overwhelmed, or reorientation. Such experiences are part of human existence.
This is not about analysis or evaluation, but about approaching them with calm, thoughtfulness, and inner distance, and placing them within a broader life context.
3. How will we work during this sessions?
Through shared meditation, attentive listening, conversation, music, and intentionally structured periods of silence, a framework is created in which new perspectives can emerge.
The aim is not to "treat" or "change" anything, but rather to clarify one's own perception, gather strength, and gain orientation.
The daily sessions are conceived as a cultural and human encounter supported by experience, art, and shared presence.
How this Retreat Evolved
We are grateful that Dr Norbert Ammermann, Professor of Theology and Chief Creative & Conceptual Advisor to Yash Foundation, has shared an invitation to this retreat on his website.
What began as a dialogue between theology, cultural heritage, and lived spiritual experience gradually unfolded into a shared exploration of how ancient wisdom traditions continue to speak to contemporary life. Through our ongoing conversations, a space emerged to bring this dialogue into lived practice, offering participants an opportunity to engage meditation not only as a technique, but as a bridge between inner transformation, cultural memory, and sacred tradition.
The Osnabrück retreat is one such space where this exploration now takes form.
