About this Retreat
Camilo, hailing from the vibrant city of Medellín, Colombia, infuses our retreats with a profound connection to indigenous traditions, songs, and prayers. As a philosopher and trained psychotherapist, he has undergone transformative training in Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Maté and explored the realms of consciousness through the Psychonaut approach with Stanislav Grof. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Psychology at Miguel Hernández University, Camilo uniquely marries his academic expertise with a deep understanding of traditional plant medicines.
During our retreats, he shares his wisdom, vibrant energy, and passion for yoga and holistic practices. Camilo’s presence creates a harmonious blend of therapeutic insight and ancient wisdom, enriching the retreat experience at La Mezquita. Join us to experience the transformative power of his guidance and the healing embrace of traditional knowledge.
Leon, a young but highly talented psychedelic enthusiast from Germany, has developed a deep passion for the healing power of plant medicine, particularly mushrooms. As an experienced cultivator, Leon combines his hands-on knowledge with his role as a musician during ceremonies. His soulful performances—playing instruments and singing—create a soothing atmosphere that enhances the ceremonial experience.
Over the past year, Leon has been intensively training as a psychedelic facilitator at La Mezquita, honing his techniques through hands-on guidance and immersive learning. His approach is rooted in sensitivity, careful observation, and a natural ability to create safe, supportive spaces for guests. Through his training, Leon has developed an intuitive understanding of psychedelic journeys, integrating both traditional practices and modern therapeutic insights to offer deep support and care during the retreats.
Miriam is a vibrant and compassionate facilitator dedicated to guiding personal growth and healing through psychedelics. With a Bachelor's and Master's in psychology, she combines modern psychological research with the therapeutic power of plant medicine to help individuals reconnect with their true selves. Her experience spans learning and development, mental health coaching, and working with people with disabilities, giving her a uniquely inclusive and empathetic approach.
Miriam enriches the retreats by her love for music—she often brings joy to sessions by playing the ukulele and singing, using music as a tool for emotional release and connection. Deeply committed to mental health, she offers a safe and supportive environment where participants can explore their inner worlds, heal, and embark on transformative journeys.

Join Our Introduction to Psychedelic Retreat Weekend for a Life-Changing Experience
Psychedelics are at the forefront of psychological research, offering powerful tools to treat depression, anxiety, and addiction, enhance creativity, confront preexisting thought and behavior patterns, and reflect on life's meaning. They provide opportunities to explore altered states of consciousness, leading to an understanding that we each construct our own reality, allowing us to choose how to shape it.
At La Mezquita, we aim to provide a safe space for transformational inner experiences, introducing you to various techniques from yogic philosophy and modern psychological research to push you to establish a personal practice. This practice becomes your daily time to recharge and ground yourself.
Ceremonies
Dive deep within during two magical ceremonies, accompanied by live music and experienced facilitators.
Night Mushroom Ceremony: This introspective experience follows the adjusted John Hopkins/Imperial College methodology, where participants wear eye masks and listen to live music, enhancing the session's vibrations.
Day on a Mountain: This extroversive experience takes place in the beautiful Alicante Range, combining San Pedro cactus and magic mushrooms for a unique, cathartic journey. We travel to a scenic spot, a 20-minute drive from La Mezquita, to connect with nature and the supportive community.
Group Size
We prioritize personalized care by keeping our groups small (7 max) to ensure a meaningful experience. Explore excellent reviews from past participants to hear their perspectives.
Dosage
Dosages are tailored to each participant based on their needs, body weight, health condition, experience with medicinal plants, and desired trip strength. We use Psilocybin cubensis mushrooms, which contain a higher concentration of psilocybin than truffles. Therapeutic intentions usually involve moderate amounts, while those seeking a mystical journey may opt for higher dosages in a safe environment.
Mental Health Consultations
We start with a screening call to discuss your interests and health situation and answer your questions. Upon arrival, you'll have a one-on-one session with our facilitators to establish trust, discuss intentions, ensure the right mindset, and alleviate any doubts. During the retreat, you'll have private sessions to explore specific topics or intentions. Our facilitators are mental health specialists knowledgeable in various yogic and therapeutic techniques, with the main facilitator boasting over 30 years of psychedelic experience and 10 years of guiding others.
Integration Sessions
Work with medicinal plants acts as a catalyst for change. To facilitate this change, integration sessions are held with a strong emphasis on somatic techniques such as yoga, meditation, clay baths, team games, singing, and dancing.
Community Living
La Mezquita, originally built as a Moroccan restaurant, exudes authentic charm. It is the headquarters of the first Spanish psychedelic society, La Sociedad Psicodélica, and a multicultural communal living space for artists, musicians, yogis, mental health specialists, and free-spirited individuals. The venue features a spacious common area with art and musical instruments, a sea-view terrace, an outdoor fire space, and various games. It is located just 100 meters from a beautiful sandy beach and a 20-minute drive from the mountains.

Consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication. We encourage you to follow your doctor’s advice on tapering down antidepressants.
