"This retreat was well organized from the very start. The drive was beautiful, the grounds to the venue were gorgeous, everything was the ultimate relaxation and no pressure to do anything. The food was even amazing! Our instructor was fantastic and really listened to what the group wanted and needed. I want to do this at least 2x/year and cannot wait to go back!"

"I was a little worried when my friend asked me to go on a yoga retreat because although I have taken yoga classes in the past, I don't regularly practice. However, I quickly realized it was a no-judgment zone and felt instantly welcomed by Jess and the others at the retreat. Jess was helpful with correcting poses which I was glad about. I enjoyed having free time to relax and explore in-between the classes. I also really enjoyed the property and the delicious food! After the weekend I felt rejuvenated, relaxed, happy and strong, some of which I don't feel regularly after having a baby this year. Thank you for the amazing retreat!"

"This was the most relaxing, fun, and laid-back retreat I have been to. The instructor was magnificent, it was a nice small group of 14, the accommodations were outstanding, and the yoga was very doable yet quite a workout after an hour or more.

"I’ve been on yoga retreats, in fact I’ve even facilitated several. But this retreat was by far one of the nicest ones! Our teacher Rachel Roberts, was a great storyteller & yoga teacher. We all got little gifts and “arts & craft projects”, which is always fun!
I also loved the venue, Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls. The setting was beautiful and the food was amazing!

The yoga was a great balance for different levels of experience and included great meditations. Jess did a really nice job creating a welcoming culture in a short period of time. "The Bija Retreat in Hocking Hills was such a special treat for me. I had never done anything like it before and I left feeling confident, renewed and happy. Jess was a wonderful and talented leader who was able to not only teach challenging and enjoyable sessions; she somehow managed to bring together 9 personalities and we left the weekend feeling like lifelong friends. Her easy approach to socializing, yoga and meditation made it so accessible. I went in feeling intimidated and left feeling like a new person. "I just completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training coursework with Rachel and Bija Yoga School. I can't say enough great things about my experience. The coursework was appropriately challenging, the modules were informative and the guest teachers were a wealth of knowledge. "The location and time of year paired to make everything extremely pleasant. The grounds had a lovely location for us to do our twice-daily practice and then had so much more to offer in terms of delicious food, lovely pools, natural thermal waters, tubing and zip-lining opportunities, a spa, and a delightful staff. The weather cooperated the entire time and the wildlife was abundant. If anything could be improved with the facilities, it would be the addition of ceiling fans as a little air movement could go a long way at times.
As for the yoga practice itself... I have participated in yoga one or two other times in my life. I went on this retreat more to take a trip with my "better half" and originally did not intend to do the practices (or maybe just check out the meditations), but finally decided to give it a go and I'm very glad I did! While I might have benefited from a primer with some yoga 101 poses (child's pose, warrior 2, etc.), nothing was so difficult that I couldn't grasp from sneaking a peak at Rachel, our instructor, when I had a question. Speaking of our instructor, she was incredibly attentive to anyone's needs during the practice. If she saw me looking confused or struggling with a pose/movement, she would provide more clarity and/or offer alternative methods to accomplish some of the same things. I felt very well cared for!
I definitely plan to pursue some more yoga and meditation, thanks to how accessible I now realize it is. It will be a shame to do it in a studio instead of the jungles of Costa Rica, but I'm game!"
"I had an absolutely amazing experience with Rachel and Bija Retreats in Costa Rica. The location and venue was simply beautiful. It's clear that Rachel spends the time to curate the retreat experience prior to our arrival. Yoga practice and meditation are themed for the week for the group, but also individually tailored as needed. The retreat was the perfect balance of yoga practice, meditation, self care, and fun. This is my second retreat with Bija Retreats and I recommend them to everyone!"

The Cedar Falls Inn and Spa was a great place to stay. They have cabins, yurts and rooms at the Inn. The restaurant had great food and a good wine list. Lots of hiking in the area and the owners and staff are a pleasure to work with.
The Yoga retreat was fantastic!!! Jessica was our instructor and led us through a fabulous weekend of yoga, mediation and discussion. We also had lots of free time to explore the area or hang out in your room under a blanket reading a book.
I will definitely be back."
