Maestra Mama Ida

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Maestra Mama Ida was born on 25 August 1952, in the Roaboya Native Community, District of Padre Márquez, Province of Ucayali, Department of Loreto. She is the daughter of Eloy Ramos and Amelia Huayta, both descendants of the Shipibo people.

From an early age, she learned the skills and rhythms of daily life through the teachings and guidance of her mother, who is remembered with love and who held a deep belief in medicinal plants.

Mama Ida embraced this experience and knowledge, and at the age of 12, she began taking the medicine. Then one day, the spirit of the plant opened the light, and from the depths of her heart emerged the calling to diet with the master plants.

She now has over 50 years of experience in the practice, management, and use of medicinal plants, healing and curing many people with various illnesses through natural medicine and the visions of ayahuasca.
