Maestro Sani Mani Angel Lopez Ramos

Maestro Sani-Mani was born in Canaan de Chia Tipishca, District of Contamana, Province of Ucayali, Department of Loreto. He is the son of Daniel López Sánchez and Ida Ramos Huayta, both descendants of the Shipibo people.

He grew up in the Roaboya Native Community under the care of his grandparents on both sides of his family. Respected for their knowledge of medicinal plants, they introduced him to healing plants from an early age and taught him to honor their protective spirit.

From his grandparents he learned household tasks and the practical skills of daily life, complemented by teachings from his parents. His mother, a wise woman rooted in Shipibo culture and ancestral knowledge, patiently taught him the preparation and use of natural medicines.

For 15 consecutive years, he has practiced as a médico vegetalista and ayahuasquero, carrying forward medicinal knowledge and supporting people who seek healing through the wisdom of plants.
