Jayacharya - Senior Ashtanga and Vinyasa Master

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Jayacharya (Jaiprakash Singh) is a dedicated Yoga teacher who blends traditional discipline with a strong understanding of anatomy and lived experience. His teaching style is grounded, insightful, and approachable — combining intensity with simplicity.

Early Life & Ashram Foundations

Yoga has been part of Jayacharya’s life since childhood. Spending extended periods in an ashram environment, he gradually transitioned from casual exposure to committed practice and seva. For over 12 years, he consciously offered service in the ashram, absorbing the rhythm of mindful living.

His spiritual foundation was shaped through participation in bhajans, kirtans, satsangs, kathas, and Vedanta discussions under the guidance of monks and teachers. This early immersion cultivated both discipline and a contemplative approach to life.

Education & Life Journey

Alongside ashram life, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and worked with corporate companies and startups. He also trained as a professional boxer for two years. A physical injury became a turning point, redirecting him fully toward Yoga and self-inquiry.

Subsequent travels across India and the Himalayan regions of India and Nepal exposed him to diverse streams of Yoga and Tantra traditions, deepening his personal practice and expanding his perspective.

Yoga Practice & Teaching

After recovery, Jayacharya returned to Hatha Yoga and later immersed himself in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, steadily progressing through the Intermediate Series.

At Samyak Institute of Yoga & Ayurveda, he guides students in:

• Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (Mysore & Led Classes)
• Vinyasa Flow practices
• Asana alignment and anatomical awareness
• Strength-based progression with mindful control

Teaching Approach

Jayacharya’s teaching reflects balance - intensity supported by awareness. Drawing from traditional practice, anatomical understanding, and personal transformation, he encourages students to cultivate steadiness rather than performance.

His sessions are disciplined yet supportive, helping students build strength, resilience, and internal balance through consistent practice.
