About this Retreat
Ashutosh Mishra grew up in Rishikesh, the town many people travel far to visit just to learn yoga. Because of this, yoga was never something far away for him, it was simply part of daily life. He later studied it formally too earning a Bachelor's degree in Yogic Science from the University of Patanjali and a Master's in Yoga Therapy from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University.
This mix of growing up around yoga and studying it in depth shows clearly in how he teaches. His classes follow a clear order, with each posture chosen to prepare the body for the next one, not placed randomly. Alignment matters a lot to him, and instead of giving the same correction to everyone in the room, he adjusts his guidance for each student's body, whether that means an old injury, tight hips, or just a different way of moving.
After more than 8 years of teaching, students can expect someone who treats Hatha Yoga as both a physical practice and a way to heal. He is not interested in pushing students into poses they aren't ready for. His focus is on building a practice that actually works for the body in front of him. If you deal with any physical limits, or simply want to understand your own alignment better, his background in yoga therapy makes him a steady and knowledgeable guide, shaped both by his training and by the town where he grew up.
Ayurveda is something many people only think about casually. As an Ayurveda doctor and diet consultant with over 10 years of experience, Dr. Devyani works with students not on the mat, but around food and daily routine, helping them see how their choices affect the body according to Ayurvedic ideas.
Her sessions focus on food and daily habits that suit each person's body type, so she doesn't give one-size-fits-all advice. Instead, she helps students understand their own body type and what actually helps balance it. For someone new to Ayurveda, this can be the first time their diet and habits are explained through a system built specifically for them, rather than general wellness tips.
What makes her guidance especially useful is that it's meant to travel home with students. She doesn't treat healthy living as something that only exists inside the ashram. Instead, she helps students carry these habits with them, fitting Ayurvedic eating and routines into their everyday lives long after a course ends.
Students working with her can expect clear, practical guidance rather than abstract ideas. If you want to know not just how to practice yoga, but how to live in a way that supports it, long after leaving the ashram, Dr. Devyani's consultations offer a genuinely useful foundation.
Dr. Sanjeev has built his teaching around one simple idea, taken seriously: breath, when properly understood, isn't just a warm-up for meditation, it's a doorway into it. Over more than 12 years, he has focused on advanced Pranayama and yogic breathwork, going well beyond the basic breathing exercises most students learn early on.
His classes are known for being careful and exact. Advanced Pranayama isn't something that can be rushed, and Dr. Sanjeev's teaching reflects that, with close attention paid to how each technique is taught and practiced. But being careful isn't the whole story, he also brings real patience, working with students at whatever pace their own breath and body need, instead of pushing everyone through the same steps at the same speed.
What students usually come away with is a new understanding of what breathwork can actually do. Instead of treating Pranayama as a separate skill, his sessions show how the breath connects directly to meditation and to a calmer, steadier mind overall. For students who've struggled to feel settled during sitting meditation, working through his advanced Pranayama methods often gives them a way in that meditation instruction alone hadn't.
His wider background in Yogic Science supports all of this, giving him the knowledge to explain not just how a technique works, but why it has the effect it does. If you're serious about deepening your breathwork, or curious what lies beyond the basic Pranayama taught in an intro class, Dr. Sanjeev's 12-plus years of focused study make him a genuinely advanced guide.
Long before Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi ever taught a class, he was growing up beside a Radha-Krishna temple that his grandfather had built in western Odisha. Born into a Brahmin family, he spent his early years around that temple, serving the sadhus who passed through it, and it was there that his relationship with spiritual life began, long before he had a name for it. That upbringing later carried him into the Himalayan yogic tradition, where he studied for years under Swami Veda Bharati, himself a disciple of Swami Rama of the Himalayas.
Over the past 25 years, this early grounding has grown into a life spent almost entirely in service of others' spiritual growth. He now travels widely to teach yoga, meditation, and what he calls inner-faith, and remains closely involved at Samadhi Yoga Ashram, in Rishikesh and Bali, where he guides students who have come looking for something beyond a physical practice.
Yogi Praveen grew up in Rishikesh, and by his own account, yoga interested him from a young age, long before it became his life's work. That early curiosity grew into knowledge across several subjects, Meditation, Philosophy, Relaxation, Swara Yoga, and Pranayama, each one big enough to be its own career, but he has brought them together into one clear way of teaching over more than 12 years.
Swara Yoga deals with the subtle science of breath and how it connects to the nostrils and the nervous system. Along with this, his work in Philosophy and Meditation gives his classes an unusual mix of clear technique and thoughtful depth.
What students notice most, though, is how easy he makes it all feel. His techniques are simple and clearly explained, and he's especially good at making hard subjects easy to understand, even for complete beginners, the kind of students who might otherwise feel nervous walking into a class with a term like Swara Yoga on the schedule. He doesn't oversimplify things until they lose meaning; he just finds a way in that doesn't need years of prior study.
For anyone new to meditation or yoga philosophy, this makes him a great place to start. And for students with more experience, his years of focused study in Kundalini and Pranayama mean there's still plenty of depth once the basics feel comfortable. Either way, his classes feel less like a display of knowledge and more like an invitation to actually understand what's being taught.
Maa Haripriya's path to Samadhi Yoga Ashram started far from India. She was born in the UK to an Indian family, and later moved to India to study yoga deeply, training for years before qualifying as a Kundalini Yoga teacher.
What makes her classes stand out is how she brings different practices together. Kundalini yoga is the base of her teaching, but she also brings in Sound Healing, Cacao Rituals, and Reiki, using them to support the Kundalini work rather than as separate activities. In one class, you might move through breath and movement, then later relax to the sound of a singing bowl.
This comes from more than 10 years of study across Kundalini, Tantra and Pranayama. She treats Kundalini not as one fixed method, but as an energy practice that can be supported with sound, touch, and ritual, depending on what a student needs on a given day.
Her classes tend to feel warm and personal, more like being guided than simply instructed. Her years abroad and her years of study in India both come through in the way she teaches. She moves easily between different traditions without losing sight of what matters most: helping each student reconnect with their own energy, with real care and skill.
Dr. Hemlata's teaching sits between classical Hatha Yoga and a more healing-focused approach. Over more than 10 years, she has developed a way of teaching that treats alignment and breath not just as technical details to get right, but as tools that can genuinely help students feel better in their bodies.
Her classes are built around this idea. A student might come in expecting a normal Hatha class and find that she pays close attention to how a pose is held, adjusting it not for looks, but for what will actually support that person's body. Breathwork runs alongside this, since she treats the breath as just as important to healing as the poses themselves.
What tends to bring students to her is her gentle, careful manner. She isn't the kind of teacher who pushes students toward harder poses just for the sake of it. Her focus stays on what will actually help someone, whether that's recovering from an injury, easing tension, or simply building a practice that feels sustainable, not tiring. That care, paired with real warmth, has made her someone students come to trust, especially those who come to yoga looking for healing as much as strength.
If you're dealing with physical limits, an old injury, or a body that needs a slower approach than a typical class offers, Dr. Hemlata's healing background and her 10-plus years of teaching make her a calm, reassuring guide.
