Swami Shiv Ji

About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Swami Shiv Ji has spent more than twenty years studying and practising Vedanta philosophy, and that length of commitment shows in how comfortably he moves through material that can otherwise feel dense or distant to newcomers. His main focus is guiding students into the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, two of the most significant texts in the Vedic tradition, and both notoriously difficult to approach without a skilled teacher.

What sets him apart is his particular gift for making these scriptures feel immediate rather than academic. It would be easy to teach the Upanishads as a history lesson or a set of philosophical positions to memorise, but that isn't his approach. Instead, he treats the wisdom in these texts as something students can actually apply and feel in their own lives, closing the distance between ancient scripture and a person sitting in front of him today.

Students who study Vedanta with him can expect classes that move slowly through ideas rather than rushing to cover ground. Concepts from the Gita or the Upanishads tend to get unpacked carefully, with time given to questions and reflection, since the goal isn't simply to finish a syllabus but to help students genuinely absorb what they're studying.
