Why study with them?
Tonya Lailey is a poet living with her two daughters, her cat Talou and a big old willow tree in Moh’kinstsis (Calgary, Alberta) on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis Nation (Region 3). Tonya is finishing her MFA through UBC’s School of Writing. As a side gig, she sell wines for Sperling Vineyards, leaders in organic and biodynamic farming in Kelowna, B.C. She’s interested in how land relationships can shape us and help us to discover both our limits and our possibilities for connection with life at large.
