He is a descendent of a lineage of medicine men, and has been dedicated for decades to the preservation of his people's customs. He is a renowned healer, guide of various rituals, a singer of prayers, and a guardian of the earth.

He learned the healing ways of his people from a young age and decided to dedicate his life to their ancient healing ways.

The Wixárika Nation (also known as the Huichol people) are an indigenous group native to the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range in western Mexico, primarily in the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Durango, and Zacatecas. The Wixárika have preserved their ancient spiritual practices, language, and traditions for centuries, maintaining a deep connection with their ancestral lands and beliefs.

Despite outside pressures, the Wixárika have fought to maintain their traditions, land rights, and spiritual practices. Their cosmology and rituals remain integral to their way of life, centered on harmony with nature and the cosmos.

Their religion is based on a deep relationship with nature, honoring deities such as Tatewari (the fire god), Tatei Yurianaka (Mother Earth), and Kauyumari (the deer spirit), along with the sacred peyote (hikuri) cactus, which is used in rituals to communicate with the divine.

The Wixárika undertake an annual pilgrimage to Wirikuta, a sacred desert in San Luis Potosí, where they harvest peyote and perform ceremonies to renew their spiritual connection to the land.
