Wixarika Ceremonial Immersion

Location icon
Yacumama Eco Village, Puntarenas Province, Ojochal, Costa Rica
Date
February 6 - 12, 2025

Retreat Highlights

  • This is a very special opportunity to be in an intimate container with a culture that has maintained their culture, language, and spiritual connection for thousands of years.
  • The ceremonial context created by the Wixárika is a profound celebration of life, and at the same time offers an opportunity for multi-faceted healing, deep immersion into community, and provides everybody a safe space to share prayers, music, and offerings to our "Creator".
  • Their "traditional healing ceremonies" are all night experiences around Tatewari (the sacred fire) in which Marakame Don Eugenio will chant at 5 specific points throughout the night in which each chant will be following by a cleansing with feathers and copal. In between these chants, the community present will have an opportunity to share their prayers and offerings.
  • Don Eusebio, a highly regarded musician (Don Eugenio's brother), will be sharing their traditional music in which it's nearly impossible to not dance joyously around the fire all together.
