About the Teacher

Why study with them?

Hi, my name is Jessica, I also go by Jess or Jessa. I am a certified yoga teacher, health coach, and energy healer. I am passionate about community creation, soul embodiment, connection with nature and cultural experiences. I grew up on a tiny island off the coast of Rhode Island called Block Island and spent much of my childhood homeschooled on a boat in the Bahamas. Most people who know me consider me to be the closest thing to a mermaid they have ever experienced because of my familiarity with the sea and my passion for surfing and underwater photgraphy.

I studied philosophy, psychology and anthropology at Colorado College. I have always been interested in Shamanism and the way different cultures approach healing. I traveled around the world in my early 20s and had many unbelievable experiences with local shamans, energy healing modalities, and plant medicine in Costa Rica, Thailand, and Indonesia. I have been waiting for the right opportunity to go to Peru and reconnect with mother ayahuasca and this is it!

I did my vinyasa yoga teacher training in Indonesia in 2013 and taught paddle board yoga for Elevation Studios on Block Island for many summers. In 2015 I co-founded a non profit yoga center in Rhode Island called Newport Community Yoga. My grandmother, who recently passed at 104, taught yoga on the beach on Block Island into her 90s. I love teaching beach yoga in honor of her. In 2014 I started a turmeric chai tea company called Jahmu and ran that for 6 years. Now I do transformational coaching work with clients on-on-one over the phone and host epic retreats. I love bringing people together and facilitating breathwork, ecstatic dance, beach parties!

Mother Ayahuasca first called me to her in Costa Rica in 2015 in a very magical way. She helped heal my digestive system and allowed me to feel comfortable in my body again. I helped organize and host an ayahuasca ceremony in Rhode Island in 2017. I have been patiently waiting for her to call me again. When Christopher invited me to the Garden of Peace it felt like a huge HELL YES. My first question was “can I bring people?” his answer, HELL YES!
