This private, one-on-one retreat offers two full ceremony days with Bufo Alvarius and 5-MeO-DMT — held at our homestead in the highlands of Valle de Bravo, México. It is designed for those who are ready to go deeper, to allow the medicine to work across multiple layers, and to give the nervous system the time and space it needs to open, release, and integrate fully.
Everything about this retreat — the dosage, the sequence, the setting, the music, the integration support — is built entirely around you and your intention — whether that's expansion, trauma catharsis, or deeper self-knowing. Every element — dosage, ceremonial setting, preparation, integration, and the ceremony itself — is curated around what you bring.

What to Expect

Arrival (Night Before)
Settle in: We greet you with an orientation circle, organic dinner, and begin to drop into the space with a Turkish Steam Sauna. Add on Massage available for extra fee (75 usd)
Time to rest, ground, and prepare for the days ahead.

Ceremony Day 1
Morning Practice and guided movement to support your nervous system regulation and preparation.

We work in the morning, before caffeine or food. Following a thorough preparation conversation, you will work with up to three doses — beginning where your nervous system is and moving forward only with your full, informed consent. We work with both the Pure Molecule (vaporized 5-MeO-DMT) for precise somatic work, and Bufo Alvarius for medium to full-release experiences.
The first ceremony often clears the surface — what the system has been waiting to release. First time participants get to experience familiarity with the medicine, what it feels like in the body, how to ask for support and how to move with the medicine.
Music (live and recorded) is woven throughout.


Ceremony Day 2
Morning Practice and guided movement to support your nervous system regulation and preparation.

The second ceremony builds on what opened in the first. For those working with titration, this day may move toward a fuller release. For those working with layering, it supports deeper somatic and expressive work while the personality remains more present. Titrating down is also available on this day for prior clients or those with a longer relationship with the medicine. Every step is consensual. You will never be pushed further than you have agreed to go.

Integration Day

The day after the final ceremony is dedicated entirely to integration — somatic work, psychological support, and the unhurried time needed to begin making sense of what emerged across both days. This is not optional. It is half the retreat.

Send-Off Morning

We close with a shared breakfast, grounded conversation, and a clear path forward for continued integration at home.

We work with two forms of medicine: the Pure Molecule (5-MeO-DMT vaporized), which allows precise lower-dose somatic work, and Bufo alvarius, the animal medicine, for medium to full-release doses.

Why We Practice Preparation & Integration And Build Integration Day into Retreat
After a powerful 5-MeO-DMT experience — where the boundaries of self dissolve and you encounter vast, non-dual awareness — the real work begins: integration. Integration means allowing the insight, clarity, and awakening from the journey to gradually take root in your human life — through your relationships, habits, body, and choices.

But this doesn't happen automatically. The medicine doesn't give you anything you don't already have. We must develop. It is not a magic bullet... but it is a wonderful potentiator for your own self-growth.

Because the Pure Molecule can dissolve ego boundaries and even the felt sense of a separate self, embodied cognition practices are crucial for re-establishing internal orientation, processing ineffable insight, and supporting nervous system regulation — not to mention engaging the remarkable neuroplasticity opened by the medicine with evidence-based mindfulness techniques.

**Two Intentions, Two Paths**

People come to this medicine for one of two fundamental reasons:
**Catharsis** — whether somatic trauma release or an incomplete somatic gestalt (in the tradition of Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing, the body holds unfinished survival responses that can finally complete). This is medicine as a portal for the nervous system to discharge what it's been carrying.

**Gnosis** — direct experience of the divine, non-dual awareness, or what mystics across traditions have called union. Not belief about the infinite, but contact with it.



**How We Work with Dosage**

Before the medicine, we discuss confirm dosage together, map out your experience with up to three doses, and you retain full informed consent throughout. We also speak openly about touch, your trauma history, and the role of physical contact in ceremony.The importance of consensual, calibrated dosing This medicine demands respect. Because the secretion of the Bufo toad is a complex natural matrix — not a single isolated compound — potency varies.

A dose that opens one person gently may overwhelm another entirely.

At La Fuente, there is no standard dose. Every retreat begins with a thorough intake and preparation conversation. We start where you are, honoring your history, your nervous system, your intention. You may begin with a threshold or sub-perceptual dose and move from there — or, for those who are prepared and ready, enter a full ceremonial experience.
Consent is not a formality here. It is the foundation of everything. You will never be pressured, rushed, or dosed beyond your agreement. The medicine works best when the participant is present, willing, and held in a container of complete safety and trust.

There are two primary approaches to dosing:

**Titration** — working incrementally toward a full release, mindful that doses stack. Each step is felt and integrated before moving forward, allowing the system to open gradually. Alternatively you can titrate down, this is only on the second day of ceremony work (reserved for prior clients or people that have a longer relationship with the medicine)

**Layering** — staying within a particular dosage range so that the personality remains relatively present. This supports extended somatic work, vocal activation, and expression — the kind of deep but grounded inner movement that becomes possible when you're not fully dissolved.

**About us**
Sacred Counsel was founded by Luke and Alexa — a ceremonial musician and a psychotherapist — with a combined background spanning indigenous traditions, somatic psychology, and over 20 years in the medicine space. Their approach is shamanic in spirit but not dogmatic in form. We operate with a lens of spirituality, animism, and also can offer neuroscience education on what is happening during your experience and during your integration phase.

Music is woven into the work — recorded or live, with my husband Luke as ceremonial musician. If you want specific instruments, or if your own cultural and creative background matters to the soundscape, we cover that in your prep session.


**Bufo Alvarius (5-MeO-DMT) — La Medicina del Sapo**
What is this medicine?
Bufo Alvarius is the common name for the Sonoran Desert toad (Incilius alvarius), native to northwestern Mexico and the Sonoran Desert. Its parotid glands produce a secretion containing 5-MeO-DMT (5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine) — one of the most potent naturally occurring psychedelic compounds known. Unlike its cousin DMT, which tends to produce vivid visions and narrative experiences, 5-MeO-DMT delivers a profoundly non-visual, non-dual state — often described as a complete dissolution of the ego and a merging with pure awareness, love, and universal consciousness. The experience typically lasts 15–30 minutes and has been described by participants as among the most significant of their lives. The secretion is ethically collected by gently milking the glands without harm to the toad, then dried and vaporized in ceremony.

Mexico is one of the few places in the world where Bufo Alvarius medicine is unscheduled and legally practiced. Unlike the United States and most of Europe, where 5-MeO-DMT carries strict prohibitions, Mexico has been the home of this medicine's modern ceremonial tradition, drawing seekers from around the world to work with experienced facilitators in proper containers. Who this is for — and who it is not

This medicine is not for everyone. Contraindications include a history of psychosis, schizophrenia, certain cardiac conditions, and current use of SSRIs, MAOIs, or lithium.
