Details of this retreat

Jacqui is honored and excited to lead Om Tara Yoga Studio’s 8th annual retreat at the serene and sacred Menla Mountain Retreat Center. To retreat means to withdraw; Jacqui invites you to withdraw from your routine and possibly stressful lives, immerse yourself in nature while practicing Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation. Embrace the deeper study of Yoga through philosophy discussions and take home with you a greater understanding of how to support yourself physically and emotionally through the science of Ayurveda. Round out your weekend with hikes, spa treatments, reading and naps.

Enjoy fresh, healthy vegetarian meals in a serene setting. Experience a bonfire under the stars where you can release that which no longer serves you and invite that which you wish to manifest in your life. This is a rare opportunity to gift yourself the time and space necessary to cleanse, heal, connect and renew, while being surrounded by the beautiful landscape and sacred energy of Menla. All levels of Yoga experience are welcome.

This registration is for the accommodation portion of Jacqui’s Om Tara Yoga Retreat. The price includes meals beginning with dinner on day of check-in and ending with lunch on day of check-out. Amazingly tranquil space for a retreat with great amenities
Just got home from another amazing retreat at Menla.

The lecture hall is such a great space and the audio / visual people do such an amazing job of stage managing the room with multiple cameras and mics that it makes for a great educational tool to be able to go back to such a well produced recording after. The room is large, with comfortable seating and environment.

The food in the dining hall in the Main Inn building is vegetarian and is awesome, even for omnivores like myself - didn't miss the meat at all for the week.

My room this time was in the same building as the lecture hall and was very nicely done and comfortable with an armoire, queen bed, desk and chair. My previous room had a sink and mirror, this one did not. But that was fine. Previous room in another building shared a bathroom with one other room, this one shared a bathroom with 10 other rooms, but it was a multi person bathroom with two shower stalls, two sinks and one toilet stall for men. So with a mix of genders in the rooms, you only share with about half the rooms. It worked out well. Finally, I used the recommended car service to go to and from the resort and it worked out great. The only issue with that is that the roads around campus are gravel and so if you get dropped at the Inn and walk to the Convention Center like I did with a roller bag, that can be a longish, bumpy walk while most people would be driving. No biggie, just something to keep in mind.

The spa is also amazing. The retreat I was at gave you ample free time to explore the resort and surrounding areas for hikes, etc. I got two awesome massages and the steam room and sauna in the men's room were very nice along with an automated shower that had several massage settings to choose from as well.

All in all, a great educational experience at Menla with one of my favorite Buddhist teachers, with great accommodations, great food, and great people in a beautiful setting in the Catskill Mountains of New York.

Dog Zen
We had a wonderful experience!

Facilities, Food were excellent as always, Liz's morning yoga programs were excellent and Dr Nita was enlightening and Empowering.

As a Camper in a Van I would like to recommend a plug in power source(30 amp service).

Dzogchen Retreat with Dr. Nida
As always I LOVED the retreat. Dr. Nida was amazing and I suggest you have him as often as possible. I was a commuter for this retreat so no comments on lodging. The food was excellent and I felt so good after eating there for 3 days. Loved the variety of tastes, menu. The supporting tech folks were great and the events felt well supported. Parking got tight at times and it may be worth considering widening roads and lots in areas to handle some of that overflow at peak loads. having more availability of massages during peak loads would be beneficial. for 5 day retreats i would suggest that you consider not having such larger breaks every day in the afternoon (maybe every other day) , and have more programming. coffee could be stronger, improved

Excellent retreat
This was my second time at Menla and I've enjoyed both as yoga retreats. I look forward to learning more about the trails and perhaps the spa as well. My experience with the yoga studio and the private room was excellent. I love the details and cleanliness as well as all the tea I end up drinking on retreats. The food is excellent as well.
