Directions
It is approximately 115 km / 70 mi from our venue and is the largest and most useful airport for international and UK flights, served by carriers such as Easy Jet and BA, with regular flights all year round flights from London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, etc.
There are excellent onward connections by car, taxi, or public transport, or we offer a Group pick up only for those arriving on 18 June with Easy Jet - Luton to Bordeaux. This is only by prior arrangement and charges apply.
I am sorry but due to logistics we are not able to offer any other collections/drop offs.
Alternative options:
Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (EGC) in Bergerac, France. 145 km / 90 mi
A good regional airport for seasonal UK routes (e.g., Ryanair flights in summer months), with smaller, more relaxed facilities.
Onward travel by car hire or taxi, - train not recommended
Limoges–Bellegarde Airport (LIG) in Limoges, France 200–210 km / 124–130 mi
Another regional airport with some direct and seasonal connections from UK airports (often via Ryanair
Onward travel by car hire or taxi, - train not recommended
Summary for Retreat Guests
BOD (Bordeaux): Best option — easy train transfer, direct connection to Montendre.
EGC (Bergerac): Possible but requires at least one train change.
LIG (Limoges): Longer trip with train changes.
Montendre train station is only a quite short taxi ride to our retreat location, and it is possible to get a direct train from Bordeaux train station to Montendre station:
From Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD)
There is no direct train from the airport itself to Montendre, but you can take a short shuttle or tram/taxi from the airport to Bordeaux-Saint-Jean train station, then a direct regional train (TER) to Montendre.
The train from Bordeaux to Montendre can be as fast as 38–40 minutes with direct services.
This makes Bordeaux the easiest option for train travellers — airport → train station → Montendre with no change once in Bordeaux.
