By Air + Ferry: • Fly to Surat Thani + Ferry to Koh Phangan: Surat Thani Airport is on the western shores of the Gulf of Thailand, near Koh Phangan. You can fly from Bangkok to Surat Thani, then transfer to Donsak to catch a ferry to Koh Phangan. The ferry trip takes about 2 hours, with a total journey time from the airport to the island of around 3 hours and 15 minutes . • Fly to Koh Samui + Ferry to Koh Phangan: Koh Samui Airport is the nearest airport to Koh Phangan. From Bangkok, it’s a 1-hour flight to Koh Samui, followed by a 30-minute ferry ride to Koh Phangan. This option is faster but more expensive . 2. By Land (Bus/Train) + Ferry: • Bus + Ferry: Buses from Bangkok to Donsak, Surat Thani take about 10-18 hours. From Donsak, take a ferry to Thong Sala Pier in Koh Phangan. Combo tickets for bus and ferry are recommended . • Train: Take a train from Bang Sue Junction in Bangkok to Chumphon, and then taxi to Tung Makham to catch a ferry to Thong Sala Pier, Koh Phangan. The entire journey takes about 11 hours. Booking lower berths on the train is advisable for more comfort, especially when traveling with family . 3.
