The Work Wives
In July this year I was lucky enough the Work Wives Womens Retreat at the Soulshine Resort in Ubud Bali.
I’d been secretly wondering how I was going to survive a Melbourne winter, and eyeing off the retreats thinking to myself ‘maybe next year’.
On a whim one night when I couldn't sleep, I entered the online comp the Work Wives were running, tagging my mate Jenna joking ‘If i win, I’m taking you’.
Imagine my surprise (and superlatives in my lounge room!) when I saw in my lil' inbox that I had won!
In hindsight it was the universe's way of telling me something had to give, and throwing me a bone (hands up if you forgot your toothbrush and packed like a 12 year old boy!) the retreat was the right mix of 'work' (on yourself and your goals), rest (lots of time to chill and explore, do yoga, and other activities) and play (beautiful and fun moments to relax, enjoy the amazing surrounds with a cocktail and chat!)
What transpired was three wonderful days where I met some incredible women, had a chance to start thinking about what I really wanted out of the next 12 months, and to just stop. AND play a bit of music to a small but amazing audience!
Thank you Anna and Sarah (and Amy and the crew of amazing women), it’s going to be hard to top that for my first trip to Bali.
