Blessed beyond words
Words don’t offer justice to the experiences I have had at Nihue Rao. Ricardo has transformed my life and blessed me beyond measure. Thanks to him and my master plants I have healed so many aspects of myself. This is a humble center, a jungle hospital. This is not a place to go and vacation, but a place to heal your body, mind and spirit. I am forever grateful to Ricardo and the other shamans and staff at Nihue. Come with an open heart and you will receive.

serious support and a quality retreat

life changing
Spent 3 weeks. 12 ceremonies. Stayed in a Tambo in the jungle with no electricity. The shamans were awesome (there were 5 Shipibo shamans at most every ceremony-except when maestro Ricardo got malaria😟. He missed the last 3 days. Be sure to take mosquito repellent. The ride in and out by mototaxi is not fun (take earplugs-the decibel level on the ride exceeds 95 for an hour or more). Be prepared for everything you take to get moldy-it's really damp and I was there in the "dry" season. The icaros were truly amazing. The Ayahuasca is prepared daily from their own plants-only Ayahuasca and chacruna-no other additives-really powerful stuff. Also, get ready for cold showers! I did not love the food but it was diet friendly-no sweets, no salt, little oil, no spices. Lots of chicken and as a vegetarian that didn't help. Very peaceful. I read 8 books while I was there. Am definitely planning to do it again next year-maybe even for 2 months. Highly recommended!

Focus on You
This place allows for some serious healing and inner work, as long as you are truly there to engage with the medicine in that way. Don't expect to be coddled or have facilitators at your beck and call, if you are seeking a more pampered experience I wouldn't recommend it. The medicine is strong, the shaman are world class. Thank you Nihue Rao.
