Directions

As we are located in the mountains outside of a town where it is dark, we highly recommend that you arrive here during daylight. We are located around 1.5 hours from Medellin International Airport and 2 hours from Medellin City (el Poblado). We are happy to help you book an airport transfer from Medellin International Airport or a pick-up from Guatape. From Medelln, you can also arrive by public transport. We do not have parking space at La Casa De Loto. If you are planning to come here by car, you can leave it in Guatapé and from there take a mototaxi (tuktuk) which brings you to the front door of La Casa de Loto. You can also park on the street in front of our centre but at your own risk.

Semi silent Buddhist meditation retreat

I am filled with gratitude for the incredible week of peace and tranquility I experienced at the beautiful Casa de Loto, where I engaged in daily yoga practice, meditation, silence, and savored delicious Ayurvedic cuisine. It was a reset that my mind and body sorely needed, and I am eager to continue on this transformative journey. The team at Casa de Loto is a shining example of passion and dedication, welcoming all with open arms and hearts, and inspiring us all to do the same.

Mission & Vision

La Casa de Loto is a small Buddhist centre committed to transmitting a traditional path to awakening which leads to inner peace, clarity and mindfulness, through the Buddhist meditation practices of samatha and vipassana as taught in the Dujdom Tersar lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, Hatha yoga and Periods of Noble Silence.
The Center was never really planned, it happened. When Pema the founder first arrived in Colombia, he quickly found himself in a hospital in Medellin with a deadly disease. But instead of despair, he offered solace to others through his calming meditation guidance. Soon, these informal sessions blossomed into his first meditation students. In 2016, La Casa de Loto opened its doors, offering refuge to people seeking a deeper connection with themselves, nature, and others.
