The Ponderosa Guest Ranch is on 160 acres of beautiful hills and forests. We are located only an hour15 from the Dallas area but worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life! The decompression begins the minute you step onto the property. while the cabins offer all the comforts of home the property is quite rustic and the longhorn herd roams freely. Leave your high heels and laptops at home as you use this sacred time to connect with the beauty of nature all around!

We have a private chef that makes most everything from scratch using the bounty from our organic garden. She has a knack for cooking for the various cycles of the moon and is always eager to please our guests with special requests. Not only is the food delicious, but it is also beautiful, nutrient-dense and made with love. You will leave wanting every recipe!

The Ponderosa Guest Ranch is one hour and 15 mins from the Dallas/Ft worth International airport. Head northwest towards the Red River to 2183 FM 1749, Forestburg, Texas, 76239. Renting a car is the least expensive route, and will come in handy for any off-campus excursions like winery tours and/or shopping.

The Well a Retreat for Yoga Teachers
I discovered this retreats spring of 2023. I went back again this spring because it is a treasure. Unlike other retreats where there is plenty of relaxation and resetting this Retreat offers Yoga teachers an opportunity to learn, collaborate and grow w other like minded instructors.. You leave with about 15 hours of professional development, and with the feeling of renewal. It boosted my self confidence as a teacher and I left rested and renewed. Lori, the host owner of Texas Ponderosa is an experienced Yoga instructor who makes you feel so welcomed and shares her knowledge of Yoga in a fun way - beautiful nature, cozy accommodations and delicious food prepared by a chef on property makes it a total treat. I’m making this an annual event.

another great day at the ranch
I haven't been able to attend a yoga event at the Ponderosa for about a year and I really missed it. The Setting Intentions even on January 20 was just what I needed. The yoga was wonderful. The lunch was tasty. Despite the cold weather, the pavilion and the Forge were warm and comfortable.
Mission & Vision
The Ponderosa Guest Ranch is situated on 160 acres outside of the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex in Forestburg, Texas. We are a backroads sanctuary and offer boutique womens retreats throughout the year. Our goal is to create a one of kind Texas experience while allowing our guests to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and melt into the comfort of nature, and our warm and hospitable staff. We have four cozy cabins, a private chef, massage therapist, and yoga/meditation is offered twice daily. We have acreage to explore, with three hiking trails, a pond for stand up paddle boards, skeet shooting, and longhorn feedings daily. And if you want to play Cowgirl, we even allow our guests to help with sunrise ranch chores. We offer nightly campfires and S\'mores under the strung lights and the big starry skies. We are fortunate to be located near several Texas wineries, and the quaint town square of SaintJo for off-campus excursions. The ranch is all about taking time for self-care, connecting with nature, and to having old fashioned face to face conversations as we strive to be present with each activity and interaction.
