Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness Collective is heading to the Gitana del Mar Beach Retreat in Columbia! "Where the Caribbean Sea meets the magical allure of the jungle and snow capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta." The beautiful Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range hosts the tallest costal mountain range and one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world, as well as our week of rejuvenation, exploration and connection.
This is perfect location for our retreat because the expansive mountain ranges and stunning coastlines naturally inspire awe, and encourage stillness. At Rooted Heart we cherish our connection to our community and ourselves above all else, and this retreat is our way of creating space to further those connections.

The Gitana del Mar Resort is located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, known as The Heart of the World. The region is incredibly rich in biodiversity with lush jungles, flowing rivers, and the worlds largest costal peaks. The expansive mountain ranges and stunning coastlines that naturally inspire awe and encourage stillness make the Gitana del Mar the absolute perfect destination to disconnect from outside influence and nourish your body, your mind and your soul.

Directions
The nearest airport to Gitana del Mar is located in the city of Santa Marta (SMR). However, some people choose to start their journey in Cartagena (CTG), which has an international airport and is a great option for spending one or two nights in the historic city.
One can also fly directly to Barranquilla (BAQ), which has direct international flights from Miami (MIA), Ft. Lauderdale (FLL), and Panama City (PTY).
The road travel time between each of these cities and Gitana del Mar is as follows:
Santa Marta to Gitana del Mar - 1.5 hours
Barranquilla to Gitana del Mar - 3 hours
Cartagena to Gitana del Mar - 5 hours
We will happily assist you in arranging your transportation to and from the retreat and your airport of choice.
Options for transport Include:
Private taxi – The trip in a private transport is about 4.5 hours.
Marsol Van – Contact Marsol directly for pick up points, pricing and reservations. The cost is around $100,000 COP per person and the trip is about 5.5 hours. We can help you organize your trip from Gitana del Mar to Cartagena once you arrive. Typically the only vans that will come all the way to Gitana del Mar (Parque Tayrona area) leave Cartagena around 6:00am and 10:00am. The vans that leave Gitana del Mar and arrive in Cartagena leave around 9:00am and 3:00pm from the resort.
Bus – It is possible to take large coach buses to/from Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta.
