Mission & Vision

Little Paradise is a small modern monastery, a meditation and retreat center just outside Hamburg, Germany.

It is a place for a spiritual retreat, a meditation holiday, or just a relaxing timeout. Our house is specially designed for people to find deep rest, stillness and to reconnect with nature and the inner.

We believe that everybody needs "sacred places"
where the veils are thinner,
where the atmosphere supports and nourishes the Soul,
and where wonder, awe, the magical and the Divine remain present.

We need these places for inward looking, reconnection and deepening of oneself,
such that each of us may find and walk the path that is distinctly ours.

In this spirit, we try to hold Little Paradise as an energetic "sacred place" - for ourselves and all our guests.

The rustic country house offers best conditions for people searching for a meaningful pause.
We strive to make this center feel like home.
Enjoy the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in our meditation room, the community kitchen, the garden, or at the pond.
Inhabitants & guests usually form a loose community. Shared meals in the kitchens, authentic encounters, deep conversations are part of our daily life.

The surrounding nature is truly beautiful with a nature sanctuary adjacent to the center.

We provide a wide variety of organic vegetarian food items in the community kitchen. Preparation is in the individual responsibility of each guest. Guests sometimes team up for cooking & shared meals.

Directions

HOW TO GET TO LITTLE PARADISE By car: Take Highway A1, exit at Ahrensburg/Siek Turn east on "Verlängerter Ostring" At first roundabout take "Hoisdorfer Weg" Turn right on "Krütz" Look out for the big fire department on the left. From there it is 100m. The center can be found to the left. Driving times: 25 minutes from Hamburg center 40 minutes from Hamburg airport By public transportation: Check www.hvv.de/en for best connections. Take bus 369 to "Alte Schmiede, Hoisdorf." Our retreat center is 50m away from the bus stop. Journey times: 1h from Hamburg Central Station 1h from Hamburg airport

Everything a retreat wants to be

I loved walking around and exploring the nature nearby: there are many lakes and forests to enjoy, different farm animals and a variety of birds in the area.
The place itself was very quiet, relaxing and allowing one to concentrate on oneself and use the time efficiently. The house feels spacious and connected to nature (it has a garden, where one can relax without going off the property).
Maria was very helpful if I needed any help or guidance. I felt at home in her house, everybody (including her beautiful cats) was very very welcoming and friendly.
I found this retreat to be a great experience. Feels like a safe haven.

Best retreat center ever

Definitely a place I would visit AGAIN AND AGAIN in my entire life. The natural reserve region provides rich ecology, with pleasing view of lake, sunshine and starry night in the garden, four lovely cats, two brilliant hosts...Little Paradise is just like an independent and isolated time space in this civilized and complex world. Having spent 2 weeks here, I would say the best experience is always beyond words. You don't need to find peace, peace finds you here:)

A real Little Paradise...

Little Paradise is an amazing place and I enjoyed a lot my 3 weeks in this beautiful house. Expect stillness and silence, but also very nice people and interesting discussions. I was not on retreat but participated in every morning and evening meditations: wonderful experience ! The garden and surroundings are beautiful too, many walks or biking trips are possible. Thank you again, Maria and Antje !

Little Paradise

Little Paradise is a wonderful place to take stock and reconnect to you core self.
Surrounded by the beauty of nature it is also perfect for allowing yourself to relax and unwind in a tranquil setting.
Would recommend to anyone who feels the need to stop slow down and reconnect with themselves and the rhythms of life.
