About this Retreat
Clemens has always been driven by a deep quest for meaning and service. At 23, he founded his own import company, which he managed for seven years. But an essential question eventually arose: “How can I contribute to a better world?” This question marked the beginning of an inner transformation and a spiritual journey that led him towards energy work, holistic healing, and personal development.
Over the years, Clemens has trained in various approaches: Reiki, hypnotherapy, foot reflexology, aura healing, EMF Balancing Technique, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and other methods for harmonizing body and mind.
These teachings, enriched by travels to India and other spiritual places over the past thirty years, have allowed him to integrate a complete, gentle, and profoundly human practice.”
Today, at Château de La Pierre, he offers energy healing sessions, Ayurvedic massages, and personal coaching. He also contributes to the life of the center through cooking, hospitality, and sharing a warm and conscious atmosphere.
During the evenings of our retreats, he leads guided meditations and crystal bowl sound journeys, true invitations to reconnect with one’s deep essence.
Trained in Ayurvedic medicine with Atreya Smith in Europe, and Dr. Joshi and Dr. Sapna in India, Marianne has been supporting those who wish to restore harmony between body, mind, and environment for over twenty years.
She discovered Ayurveda in 2004 while living in Sivananda yoga ashrams, where she met the pioneers who brought Ayurveda to the West: David Frawley and Robert Svoboda.
Since then, she has continuously trained in Ayurveda at several recognized schools and with renowned practitioners such as Vaidya Atreya Smith from European Institute of Vedic Studies, and traditional doctors like Dr. Joshi in Nagpur. She complemented this education with the study of therapeutic yoga, Ayurvedic nutrition, and Ayurveda-specific treatment and massage techniques. She learned Thaï massage at Sunshine School in Chiang Mai, Ayurvedic massage at Anjali School of Ayurveda in Kannur, as well as the California College of Ayurveda.
Her journey has led her to synthesize care practices learned in various schools in India and California. Throughout her practice, she has created several signature treatments inspired by traditional Ayurveda: Shilābhyanga, a hot stone massage acting deeply on tissues and energy circulation, and her own approach to Marma Therapy, a precise work on Ayurveda’s vital points promoting regeneration and inner balance.
After designing the treatment protocols offered during the retreats at Château de La Pierre, she trained the team members in their implementation. She thrives to constantly adapt to the needs of each guest, providing individualized support. Marianne conducts an initial Ayurvedic assessment on the first day of the retreat, aimed to establish a personalised treatment protocol, as well as a closing interview to evaluate the effects of the retreat and suggest lifestyle adjustments.
Marianne is a dedicated Yoga teacher of 22 years, teaching most of the morning yoga practices in all our retreats, with her gentle, deeply spiritual approach inherited from her time living in the ashram. She also guides the walking meditations in the ancient oak forest of Tronçais. She loves to share her knowledge of Ayurveda in an accessible, joyful and practical way, through workshops during the retreats.

An authentic Ayurvedic Retreat in the heart of France
The essence of our mission is to provide deep benefits that stand comparison with the best Ayurvedic clinics in India, while enjoying the quiet timeless atmosphere of an antique Chateau in the center of France. That means benefiting from the best of both worlds:
* No jet lag or acclimatisation necessary: you arrive, you relax.
* An exceptional natural environment, preserved and silent, in the heart of central France, a sanctuary for flora and fauna.
* English spoken – no cultural barrier, for a simple and seamless experience.
* Local Ayurvedic cuisine, digestible and detoxifying, prepared with seasonal organic ingredients.
* A central location, easily accessible from Paris.
Designed by Marianne Durand, Senior Practitioner with over twenty years of experience in Yoga and Ayurveda, our retreats follow protocols learned in the best schools in India, the United States, and Switzerland, and use authentic medicinal oils imported by us from South India (Kerala), to guarantee a profound effect on the body, mind, and spirit.
Château de La Pierre offers a unique setting of calm and nature: 16 hectares of meadows, forest, and silence, far from any pollution. Daily yoga and meditation practice complements the treatments and reinforces the rebalancing effects on body and mind.
After an individual assessment, conducted on the first day of the retreat, Marianne establishes a personalised protocol with you. Each program aims to:
* Harmonize your nervous system (Vata dosha)
* Rebalance your metabolism (Pitta dosha)
* Promote circulation to eliminate accumulated toxins (Kapha dosha)
* Nourish and regenerate your tissues (Rasayana)
The Retreat includes 1 or 2 Ayurvedic treatments per day, including four 1.5-hour long full-body massages during the week, supplemented by specialised treatments and specific massages, thus offering one of the most comprehensive packages available in France.
The Ayurvedic Retreat is not limited to treatments; it offers total immersion in an environment conducive to rejuvenation:
* Personalised massages and treatments with Ayurvedic medicinal oils specifically chosen for you
* Daily yoga, meditation, and relaxation practices
* Healthy and delicious vegetarian food
* Rest and meditation in Nature
At Château de La Pierre, you benefit from traditional treatments, personalized support, and an exceptional environment.
Everything is in place to experience an authentic Ayurvedic experience, deeply regenerating, without having to travel to India.
