About this Retreat
Your Guides
My path to Camp Joy Retreats has unfolded through many chapters, each one shaping how I think about connection, healing, and what it means to truly feel joy.
For more than fifteen years working in the restaurant industry, including seven years as a General Manager, I developed a deep appreciation for creating memorable experiences. Great food, beautiful spaces, and thoughtful hospitality have a way of bringing people together, and I loved watching how a shared table could spark conversation, laughter, and connection.
Another part of my journey came through my experience as a mother to a son with special needs. That chapter opened my eyes to many healing paths and led me to study practices that eventually became central to my life, including homeopathy, yoga, and meditation.
For the past twelve years I have worked as a Homeopathic Practitioner, supporting individuals and families on their healing journeys. It has been a privilege to walk alongside them as they rediscover balance, resilience, and wellbeing.
The final nudge that led to Camp Joy Retreats came after a serious car accident. During my recovery, one thought kept returning to me: this is not the dress rehearsal.
Life is meant to be lived fully, with presence and intention. That perspective became part of the heart of Camp Joy.
Today, along with designing the program with my sister, I lead the Inner Joy sessions, creating space for women to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what brings them joy. These gatherings often become some of the most meaningful moments of the retreat, where conversations deepen and new insights emerge.
Camp Joy Retreats brings together the things I care about most: connection, reflection, and the simple but powerful experience of women gathering together in beautiful places.
Details of this retreat
Bald Head Island is special. No cars. No noise. Just the sound of waves, the rustle of live oaks, and the distant call of seabirds.
Accessible only by ferry, this barrier island off the coast of North Carolina feels worlds away. Wild dunes, maritime forest, wide beaches, and marshes rich with wildlife create a landscape that invites you to slow down and breathe. Sitting at the mouth of Cape Fear, more than 80% of Bald Head Island is protected, making it the perfect place to reconnect with nature and your own joy.
The island’s magic lies in its quiet rhythm with the natural world. The Bald Head Island Conservancy protects important nesting grounds for loggerhead sea turtles, and it’s common to spot dolphins at sunset or egrets fishing in the marsh. From the ferry at Deep Point Marina, you cross the Cape Fear River, breathe in the salt air, and step into island time where golf carts replace cars and the pace of life softens.
For four nights and five soul-filling days, this Camp Joy retreat gathers in a private home on Middle Island, tucked among centuries-old live oaks and overlooking the tidal beauty of Fishing Creek. Built in 2025, the home blends coastal elegance with the warmth of a true gathering place. Light fills the open kitchen, dining, and living spaces, with wide windows framing the marsh beyond.
Four primary suites feature ensuite bathrooms and private marsh views. Two bunk rooms with double beds and ensuite baths open onto a lower patio, deepening the connection to the outdoors.
The winding paths of Middle Island keep you close to the beach while wrapped in peaceful stillness. East Beach is just a 3–4 minute golf cart ride or a beautiful one-mile walk from the house.

The Camp Joy House on the Marsh sits in Middle Island.
Camp Joy will pick-up campers at the Bald Head Island Ferry Terminal on the Island and arrange transport to the house for you and your luggage!
For driving or arranging a ride, your destination is Deep Point Marina outside Southport North Carolina.
By Car:
You'll find parking at a daily rate at the Deep Point Marina from which the Bald Head Island Ferry leaves.
Please note that parking at the Deep Point ferry terminal, and the cost of the ferry crossing are not included in the cost of this Camp Joy retreat. But we are happy to help coordinate!
By Air:
Wilmington airport (ILM) is 45 minutes, Myrtle Beach airport (MYR) is 1 hour 30 minutes and Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU) is 2 hours, 30 minutes from Deep Point Marina.
We can help organize shared car service from ILM or MYR. Uber and LYFT also serve both ILM and MYR airports. We will help campers arrange the ferry to the Island after they book!

We are excited to offer a number of options and all prices include meals and snacks, drinks (wine, aperitifs, and, of course, non-alcoholic options), on-site and off-site activities that are included in the agenda, and moments of surprise and delight. All suites are air conditioned and are furnished with towels and bedding. Bathroom amenities include: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer. We also provide beach and yoga towels. All rooms have en suite bathrooms that are shared with your roomie(s) if you choose that! Suites with king beds can be reserved just for you or shared with a loved one or friend. Pricing is based on a 4-night stay. We would be delighted to assist with hotel recommendations or bookings for anyone wishing to stay earlier or later.
