Details of this retreat
Chakra course and Kundalini Yoga training: five days on the history, philosophy and practice of the chakras, Wednesday to Sunday, in Rossatz on the Danube, Austria. Recognised by Yoga Alliance as continuing education (YACEP) with 30 hours, and open to interested practitioners.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
Much of what is said about the chakras today is fairly recent. This course goes back to the sources: it traces the chakra teachings from the tantric texts where they were first described to their place in modern Hatha Yoga, so you can tell what belongs to the tradition and what was added later.
CONTENTS
– A short history of yoga and tantra
– Prana, kosha and kundalini in the traditional texts
– Origin and development of the chakra teachings
– The seven-chakra model of the Kubjika tradition
– Reading the sources: Sat Chakra Nirupana, Shiva Samhita
– Asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha and meditation as the texts link them to the chakras
