RETREAT OVERVIEW
In the complex world of healthcare, caring for others requires that you care for yourself, though healthcare professionals commonly leave out tending to their own well-being. The noble path of supporting others has many beautiful and rewarding benefits and it can also come with depletion, stress, challenges and overwhelm. Join us for a few days of rest, discovery and renewal.

Heidi Bourne & Rochelle Calvert are coteaching this retreat!

Drawing on the perspectives of Buddhist practice, everyday mindfulness, psychological trauma healing practices, and the wisdom of the natural world, this is an opportunity to nurture your well-being, increase capacity and resilience, and take refuge in community to meet the difficulties and challenges inherent to care-providing.

This unique retreat includes periods of silence, nature led meditations, mindful movement, reflective journaling, beautiful hikes, small inquiry/discussion groups and time to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Giving yourself time to deepen the sense of embodied interconnection with life and relational attunement directly supports the ability to care for others.

Practitioners from any and all genders, orientations, backgrounds and healthcare professions (medical, dental & mental health) are welcome.

experience
I noticed that Rochelle had prepared very well....and so had Dave. They were always prompt, professional, on time, passionate, engaged, and present. They covered every basis, including thorough covering of safety, expectations, provided education, science, meditation, somatic experience, and were always available to check in with. They allowed space for people to experience whatever they were going through, and maintained the human element. There was never any judgment, they were kind, but also diligent. Meals were ample, on time, and delicious. We learned a lot about trauma, and I actually felt transformed by the end of the stay. I don't just feel like I have tools added to my tool box, I actually feel a completely changed relationship with nature, myself, and others. This retreat far exceeded any expectations, but in ways I can't really describe, I can only feel, and I think a lot of that has to do with the way Rochelle so gently continued to encourage me to move into a safe space while periodically challenging me to move toward my discomfort.
