Directions

Please book your flight to arrive at Bahías de Huatulco International Airport (HUX). Barbarenas is located in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. Puerto Escondido is a highly sought-after travel destination, a small mellow town where Mexicans, ex-pats, and world travelers intermingle and where surfboards are as common as cell phones. Rated as one of the top surfing destinations in the world, Puerto is famous for its laid-back, authentic beach ambience.
Barbarenas is located just 10 kilometers away from the Puerto Escondido Airport (PMX) and a 10-minute walk to La Punta, Zicatela beach where you find delicious restaurants and local handcraft stores. They are surrounded by nature on top of La Punta Beach.

The real deal
I found this little sanctuary on Google so I was a little nervous that it would be a disappointment but I was very pleasantly surprised.
There is a lot of heart energy in this place and it attracts kind and authentic people both with the staff and volunteers and the guests. The yoga and classes were excellent. The little natural pool was a welcome cool off. And the food was delicious.

I had a great week for several reasons: Everyone on Barbaneas are very friendly, Yoga classes are really good and I experienced different types/schools of Yoga, Workshops were amazing and lot more.

I definitely recommend this retreat.

Kai and his team created a beautiful sanctuary in Puerto Escondido close to the beach . Beautifully landscaped with an artistic touch all Bungalows are very comfortable, clean and have a unique architecture . A natural water pool invites for splashing, or just napping in a hammock. The shared meals in an open-air kitchen are perfect to meet other guests. A feeling of belonging and family, makes the experience special.
