With a combination of expertise in transpersonal psychology, integration psychology, functional medicine, indigenous Amazonian plant medicine, and church ministry, Dr. Scott offers a holistic approach to healing and wellness that aligns with the traditional use of ayahuasca in indigenous communities. His deep understanding of the spiritual and mystical aspects of human experience, as well as his knowledge of functional medicine, enables him to provide comprehensive care to clients that supports their physical and emotional wellbeing. As a practitioner of indigenous Amazonian plant medicine and a minister, Dr. Scott respects and honors the sacred traditions and practices of the indigenous communities where ayahuasca is traditionally used.
Dr. Scott recognizes that the transformative power of ayahuasca lies in the integration of the experience into daily life. He emphasizes the importance of intention, preparation, and respect for indigenous traditions when approaching these healing opportunities. As a facilitator and expert in transpersonal psychology and integration, Dr. Scott helps individuals navigate their healing journeys and integrate their experiences into their lives in meaningful and lasting ways. With his holistic approach, he offers a valuable resource for individuals seeking a deeper connection with themselves, their spirituality, and the world around them. This is where true transformation can occur."
Warmi Yachak (Medicine Woman), Tribal Eder
Mama Marlene Guatatuca is a Warmi Yachak (Medicine Woman) and Tribal Elder who has spent over 45 years studying and practicing native medicinal plant healing to support her community and those who seek healing at Sacha Wasi. Her extensive knowledge of traditional plant medicine is a testament to her dedication and respect for her ancestors and their teachings. Mama Marlene is also a skilled community midwife and has a deep understanding of women's health, making her a valuable resource for her community.
As an elder of the indigenous Kichwa people, Mama Marlene strongly believes in the ancient wisdom and healing that comes from the use of ayahuasca in traditional ceremonies. She sees it as a powerful tool to connect with the spirit world and receive guidance, healing, and insights. Mama Marlene believes that the indigenous knowledge of plant medicine is a precious inheritance from their ancestors and should be respected and preserved. At Sacha Wasi, she is dedicated to sharing this knowledge with her community and helping others benefit from the healing powers of traditional plant medicine.
As a Warmi Yachak, Mama Marlene has a special connection to the feminine spirit and energy, which she believes is essential for healing and balance. She often incorporates this energy into her healing practices and ceremonies to help her guests connect with their own feminine energy and intuition. Her deep connection to the earth and her ancestors is evident in everything she does, and she believes that the plants and the earth are our greatest teachers and healers. Mama Marlene's work is a beautiful example of the power of traditional medicine and the importance of preserving indigenous knowledge and wisdom for future generations.
Jesus Dagua - Medicine Man (Yachak), Tribal President
Meet Jesus Dagua, a Yachak or medicine man, and Tribal President who has devoted his life to learning about the healing power of master plants. From a young age, Jesus had a calling to work with medicinal plants and dreamed of his ancestors sharing their knowledge with him. Today, he continues to work with plant medicine and has helped countless people with the spiritual knowledge of his ancestors.
As a medicine man, Jesus is connected with the plant spirits and continues to receive powerful dreams of ancestral knowledge of these plants. He asks his guides to leave him the knowledge to help facilitate healing for people. Jesus spends his spare time alone, indulging in his ancestral knowledge, cleansing himself of energy by bathing in waterfalls or rivers and growing plants for the future.
If you are thinking of visiting Jesus and his community to participate in an Ayahuasca ceremony, he encourages you to be confident in yourself and to fast on the day of the ceremony. Jesus advises us to be comfortable with ourselves, forget the bad experiences that have happened in life, and focus on the good things that await in the future. He encourages asking the ancestral medicine from the heart to help heal, and bring peace, love, happiness, and wisdom in one's life.
Jesus and his community can't wait to meet you and welcome you to their ancestral healing traditions.
Ashka Pagrachu! (Thank you)"
Yusu Dagua - Medicine Man (Yachak)
Meet Yusu Dagua, a Kichwa yachak or shaman who carries on the healing knowledge and traditions of his grandfathers and ancestors. Yusu has been practicing for 25 years and plays an important role in the Ayahuasca ceremony, where he offers guidance, support, and performs traditional rituals to help guests connect with the plant medicine and the earth.
When he's not practicing, Yusu loves to connect with Pachamama and play soccer with his community. As an indigenous medicine man, he believes in the power of the "limpia" to cleanse the body and mind, and he offers hands-on healing to ground and open the heart.
In Yusu's words, "Preparing for an Ayahuasca ceremony is about more than just drinking the medicine. It's about connecting with the earth and our ancestors, and opening ourselves up to the healing energy that surrounds us. Before the ceremony, we must prepare our minds and bodies, and offer our intentions to the plant medicine. We must also show respect to Pachamama and the spirits that guide us. When we do this, we can receive the full benefits of the Ayahuasca and experience deep healing and transformation."
Byron Santi, Yachak, (Medicine Man)
Byron is a highly respected Yachak, or Medicine Man, at Sacha Wasi with a wealth of knowledge about the rainforest and its many medicinal plants. As an integral part of the team, he is often present during ceremonies, using his music and singing to guide and support guests on their journey.
With years of experience as a guide, Byron is also one of the key leaders for hiking expeditions, taking visitors to some of the most awe-inspiring and hidden gems of the rainforest that are not typically accessible to outsiders. His deep connection to the land and his passion for sharing the wisdom of his ancestors make him a treasured member of the Sacha Wasi community.

This visionary endeavor, introduced in February 2022, empowers both children and adults from Sacha Wasi and neighboring tribes with an educational curriculum encompassing Kichwa, English, Spanish, geography, and computer literacy. Under Dr. Scott's guidance, over 25 laptops and desktop computers have been donated, opening windows of opportunity for these future custodians of the Amazon.
