10-Day Yagé/Ayahuasca Retreat

Taita Fernando Lezama is a medicine man, recognized worldwide for his care of the original tradition of yage. As a child he began his training with different indigenous communities and native elders. The elders passed along their knowledge to him, so that he could provide it to his community with respect. His mission is to continue conserving and protecting the jungles of the Putumayo region. Fernando began his studies of shamanism at age 5 with the elder Taita Juvenal Motunbajoy and was ready to conduct ceremonies at age 12. He continued training for many years, studying the medicine with Siona, Cofan and Coreguaje elders and integrating three aspects of ancestral Yagé wisdom. Fernando cooks his own remedy in the jungle, which guarantees that the medicine is pure, without any ingredient foreign to the traditional preparation.

Leonidas has immersed himself in the study of ancestral paths with the Elders of different communities from the Amazon. He has trained with the teachers Coreguaje, Inga, Siona, Secoya, and Cofán and entered into a pure connection with the Jungle and with the sacred Yagé plant. Leonidas was born in a small town that descended from the Pijao community. His parents took him to drink Ayahuasca (Yage) for the first time when he was six years old. One year later, Leonidas began his training as a healer, guided by the native Siona and Kofan elders. The ceremonial hut, or Maloca, embraced Leonidas to strengthen his learning and connect his spirit with the divine. This Maloca is located in the Colombian Amazon on the outskirts of the town of Curillo, Caquetá. During the last 26 years, He has trained with teachers from Coreguaje, Inga, Siona, Secoya, and Cofán communities. He has been finding, harvesting, praying, making the medicine of Yage, and healing with it since he was 15 years old. Leonidas continues to honor the plant and its masters by caring for the ancient design of the ceremony and providing only the purest medicine. It never includes other plants or additives. Iyari was introduced to sacred medicine when she was 6 years old. Since then, her path has been guided through various plants and ancestral ceremonies of America. Her path of learning has been life itself, integrating all the teachings of sacred medicines into her life and continuing in that awareness of life, accompanying other people in the sacred processes of life. Iyari is a mother, a midwife, she takes care of the inipi ceremony, and shares ceremonies at altars for women and families.
