About this Retreat

Schedule

Day 1
Arrival and Presentations – Guests are picked up from the Airport Hotel in an air-conditioned Mercedes Sprinter bus and arrive in the early afternoon at Eleusinia’s private 100-acre retreat center, located in the picturesque lakeside community of Valle de Bravo, Mexico, often referred to as the "Hamptons of Mexico City." Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by the retreat team, which includes facilitators, medical professionals, and support staff. They are given time to settle in and connect with other attendees while enjoying snacks and refreshments. Each guest will have an initial one-on-one medical intake with a member of Eleusinia’s medical team, as well as an opportunity to meet individually with Eleusinia’s Curandera, a traditional Mexican mushroom practitioner, who offers a spiritual cleansing and blessing for their journey. Guests will also receive a tour of the Eleusinia grounds to become familiar with the surroundings.

In the late afternoon, presentations cover the neuroscience of psychedelics, preparation for the upcoming macrodose, Eleusinia’s approach to "intention setting," and a formal introduction to the Eleusinia team. This is followed by an intimate group dinner on our veranda, prepared by our gourmet chef.

Day 2
The morning begins with a follow-up presentation on navigating a psychedelic journey, alongside a discussion of the tools and techniques we use to support our guests throughout their experience. Guests are further introduced to the thoughtfully curated garden spaces, designed specifically to enrich their journey. Eleusinia’s breathwork and meditation coach leads them through a series of exercises in preparation for the macrodose.

The session begins as a group in our meditation structure, affectionately called "The Nest," and soon transitions to a more personal experience across our expansive gardens and private alcoves. Each area features carefully curated stations designed to deepen the journey, offering options like relaxing in a hammock, cozy cocoon-like seating, or lounging in spacious living rooms with floor-to-ceiling views. Every setting is meticulously crafted to provide a unique and exploratory environment, all under the attentive care of our facilitators (1:2 ratio). These spaces integrate neuroscience-based tools and techniques to assist in navigating the psychedelic journey, which lasts approximately 4-6 hours.

Evenings are spent unwinding by the fire, providing a space for reflection, journaling, or engaging in informal conversations with team members and fellow guests about their experiences.

Day 3
Day 3 is focused on DMT, integration, meditation classes, and massage. It’s a full day at Eleusinia. Each guest participates in individual DMT sessions after the group breakfast, supported by Eleusinia’s facilitators, with a ratio of two facilitators per guest. After lunch, small group classes in breathwork, mindfulness, and TRE (Trauma Release Exercises) are led by our breathwork and meditation coach, along with one-on-one integration sessions with either our psychotherapist or a specialist trained in psychedelic integration.

The afternoon includes a massage session followed by our Mushroom Cultivation Course and a lively group dinner. Each guest receives a personalized schedule, with breaks interspersed to allow time for socializing with other guests, resting, or exploring the grounds. Guests also have the option to record their individual integration sessions for sharing with family members or therapists back home.

Day 4
For guests who have opted for the class, Day 4 begins with an early morning DMT extraction workshop. Later, the group breakfast includes a creative writing exercise designed to compliment the psychedelic integration process. After breakfast, participants enjoy some leisurely time in the garden, exploring individual DMT sessions to further develop their navigation techniques. Throughout the day, one-on-one integration meetings with our curandera are available for those seeking a cultural and spiritual perspective.

In preparation for the minidose, there is a meditation session that incorporates Wim Hof breathing techniques and other practices aimed at enhancing the psychedelic experience. The minidose session begins with a cold plunge to boost endorphin and norepinephrine levels, preparing participants for the deeply meditative state of the minidose. Immediately after the cold plunge, we start the minidose, spending the rest of the afternoon in deep psychedelic meditation exploring the garden or relaxing by the fire.

Dinner following the minidose is a lively event, featuring psychedelic trivia to reinforce the knowledge gained throughout the retreat. The evening concludes with a cacao ceremony, offering a reflective and ceremonial end to the day.

Day 5
Day 5 begins with a group breakfast and an optional poetry reading for those who wish to share their writings from the retreat. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at the retreat center, enjoying our indoor pool, or ordering an additional massage or IV therapy session. Additional DMT sessions are also available.

Day 6
Spend the day exploring nearby excursion options such as paragliding, hiking, or visiting town. More relaxing options like med-spa activities or additional DMT sessions are also an option.

Peak experience
I hardly know where to begin to describe my experience at Eleusinia. If you are serious about finding a solution to whatever ails you, this is the place! The term “facility” doesn’t do it justice; it's truly a home—a big, beautiful, cozy, and healing home where you feel safe and secure. The environment is designed to foster tranquility, with numerous private spots where you can be alone, surrounded by the healing embrace of nature.

Every aspect of your stay is taken care of here. The bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, and the meals are delicious. But what truly sets Eleusinia apart are the owners, Jessica and Jay, and their exceptionally well-curated staff. Each member of the team is grounded, caring, and genuine, dedicated to helping you find what you need.

This place offers something for everyone. They walk alongside you on your journey, providing assistance when needed and giving space when it's essential. Healing is a gradual process, and knowing you are safe and cared for as you move forward is priceless. Jessica, Jay, and their team have created something special at Eleusinia—a sanctuary born from their big, beautiful hearts, and I am deeply thankful that it exists.

I’m a second-time guest at Eleusinia, and I know I’ll be back.

Third visit!
My wife and I just finished our third retreat at Eleusinia. As the clinical research proves what indigenous healers have known for eons, there are an ever increasing number of options for working with these amazing mushrooms, but they are not all created equal. The team at Eleusinia is extremely professional. The attention to detail is impeccable. The accommodations are luxurious and the food wonderful.
Most importantly, the intentionally diverse team is caring and compassionate in a way the restores your faith in humanity. Whether your thoughts on psilocybin are purely scientific or spiritual, you will feel completely at home. Though I have access to psilocybin at home and work with it regularly, I will keep coming back "home" to my Eleusinia family because the safe space they create and support they offer has allowed me to go deeper and make life-changing self discoveries. I am forever grateful. It can be scary to embark on this journey. The work is incredibly rewarding but equally difficult! If you are ready to heal, you will find no better or safer place.

A truly life changing experience
I don't even know where to start. This is a 5 star review only because there's no option to go higher. I cannot imagine that there exists a better psilocybin retreat anywhere in the world. Upon arrival you will be made to feel like part of a large extended loving and caring family. Every single detail has been thought of. The level of passion that the team put into this endeavor is unparalleled. I've never felt such support from people I've just met. I don't really want to give anything away as everything needs to be experienced to be believed. But in the strongest terms possible, this is the highest praise I will ever leave in a review. My life is forever changed. Thank you to everyone at Eleusinia for EVERYTHING!

Just amazing
I concur with what everyone else has said about their experience at Eleusinia. The caring and supportive staff, beautiful accommodations and grounds, delicious food, the tools you are given to be successful at continuing the journey that brought you to Eleusinia and the bonding that goes on between participants and staff are unforgettable.

One thing I learned is that if you come with an expectation of what you will experience or what will come up, toss that out the window because you cannot predict it. Nothing came up that I thought would, things that needed to come up did.

It was clear that everyone had a different and life-changing experience. After we took the macrodose, which we did in an area called “the nest”, we were encouraged to leave it once we felt any effects and go to the beautiful area outside of the nest and let the medicine start working. Not exactly sure what happened in my case. I had the most healing experience of my entire life that changed my outlook completely but I never left the nest. I tried, but I just couldn’t, because I felt so safe there. I was never left alone. Someone was always right there by my side. I was surprised that I did not have any visual
or auditory experiences, but instead I cried for about 6-7 hours. Although I cannot remember every single thing, I can remember many things that I have been holding on to for years that I didn’t realize I was. The person I am today is a person I have never known my whole life. I’ve endured many traumas since childhood and well into adulthood and they impacted every aspect of my life. Somehow I got lucky and finally had everything I could ask for like a loving and supportive husband and children, in addition to a very comfortable life, but I couldn’t appreciate it because I didn’t know how to. Now I do. My family is not entirely sure how to take all this in quite yet, although they are very happy. Previously, their actions revolved around what my mood was each day, and now they can breathe. It’s a process, but a good one. I am very fortunate to have the support of my family as well as my doctor, who actually encouraged me to come, and he and I will be working on a plan for me to wean off many of the medications I’ve been on for years that never seemed to help me live a somewhat normal life anyway.

Every single staff member at Eleusinia was patient, comforting, and supportive. It was like being in a cocoon the entire stay.

While visiting Eleusinia is not going to solve all of your problems, it certainly will give you a jumpstart of putting you in the right mindset to help reverse self-destructive thoughts or negative behaviors so that you can continue to work on being the best person you can be. We will never be without problems, because well, life. However, I have found with this wonderful medicine that I can navigate life better, and when struggles come up, I can cope with them more effectively than I ever could before. At least this has been my experience.

I cannot thank the staff at Eleusinia enough. Everyone was absolutely wonderful. I will be forever grateful to Jessica, Jay, Josefina, Tawnya, Karen, Roger, Madai, and a most special shout out to Emilio.

The housekeeping and kitchen staff, as well as the masseuse, also make the experience just perfect. I hope I’m not forgetting anyone. Every need is taken care of.

I will also never forget the nine other wonderful people I went through this experience with.

One participant told me something that I won’t forget and really summed up my experience. He said when I arrived, I looked like I was holding my breath for a very long time and that by the end I looked so relaxed and peaceful. I did not notice it physically, but I definitely felt it emotionally.

Thank you again to the Eleusinia staff, and I will be returning next year!
