About this Retreat
Blez is a psychologist and traveler on Earth and in the inner worlds. He co-founded the Psychonauta Foundation and has made his home in the Amazon jungle with his partner and two children. Since 2016, he has been leading retreats that facilitate contact with psychedelic plants, helping hundreds of individuals expand their consciousness. His favorite plants for these experiences are Ayahuasca and San Pedro.
Over the years, he has undergone many plant diets, including Ajo Sacha, Bobinsana, Chuchuhuasi, Marosa, Shinipampana, Renaquil, and Chiric Sanango. He earned the nickname "Captain" from a Shipibo healer, he likes it for its connotation of guiding a boat, a psychedelic boat beyond the mind's boundaries. However, he believes true leadership enables individuals to become captains of their own lives.
In his practice, Blez combines his skills as a psychologist with the profound lessons from plants. He is committed to creating a safe, judgment-free space for those seeking healing. His priority is to foster a supportive environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
Blez takes great care in preparing medicines, ensuring their highest quality. He finds immense satisfaction in witnessing the transformation towards a more conscious existence and improved well-being. He states that healing can be a fascinating journey.
Daughter of Maestro Miguel and a guardian of her family’s ancestral knowledge. Her icaros are powerful, rhythmic, energetic, and full of life, bringing a distinctive intensity and vitality to her ceremonies.
Her presence combines powerful feminine energy with balance, sensitivity, and strength, creating a unique and deeply engaging ceremonial experience.
A Shipibo maestro from Pucallpa, César has a unique background as a former Director of Photography for Canon Peru and decades of experience with Amazonian plant medicine. He is the son-in-law of Maestro Miguel and frequently works alongside Mirabel Mahua Miguel’s daughter and a member of the legendary Mahua family.
His ceremonies are known for melodic, energetic icaros and a calm, balanced presence reminiscent of a Buddhist monk. Combining traditional Shipibo knowledge with empathy, attentiveness, and a deep understanding of Western participants, César creates a space where powerful ancestral traditions meet warmth, professionalism, and a genuine sense of safety.

🌊 OCEAN OF MEDICINE
Shipibo Wisdom · Pacific Ocean · Inner Exploration
✨ 7 Days · 6 Nights · 3 Ceremonies · Only 3–5 Participants
🌴 Imagine experiencing the ancestral wisdom of the Amazon while staying in a beautiful beachfront villa, just steps away from the Pacific Ocean. Welcome to Ocean of Medicine, an intimate retreat bringing together the living plant medicine tradition of the Shipibo people and the untamed beauty of Peru’s northern coast.
🌊 For seven days and six nights, you will join a small circle of just 3 – 5 participants for three ayahuasca ceremonies guided by two experienced Shipibo curanderos, accompanied by their traditional icaros, the ceremonial songs that are an essential part of Shipibo practice.
🏝️ The retreat is facilitated by Capitan Blez, co-founder of Psychonauta Foundation, with 10 years of experience leading retreats in Peru, supporting participants through preparation, the retreat experience and integration.
🌿 It is an invitation to experience the meeting of ancestral wisdom, ceremonial work and the immense presence of the natural world.
🌱 For this retreat, we have selected a distinctive batch of ayahuasca from our collection, prepared during the 2026 season. The ceremonies will be guided by our Shipibo curanderos, with appropriate preparation, screening and attention to participant safety.
🌊 And then there is the ocean. After a night of ceremony, the day offers a different rhythm: natural light, fresh air, the movement of the waves and the freedom to spend time outdoors.
🏄 MORE THAN CEREMONY: EXPLORE THE COAST
🌊 Ocean of Medicine leaves room for you to experience the Pacific in your own way.
✨ Depending on your interests, optional activities can include: 🏄 Surfing lessons 30 USD 🧘 Yoga and mindful movement 15 USD 🪁 Kitesurfing 100 USD 🤿 Diving and ocean adventures 🐎 Horseback riding along the beach 20 USD 🌿 Exploring Máncora and nearby coastal communities 🐬 Discovering the wildlife and landscapes of northern Peru
🧘You can choose to be active or simply enjoy the beach, rest and let each day unfold naturally.
🤍 AN INTIMATE EXPERIENCE, NOT A CROWD
🌿 We intentionally limit each retreat to just 3 – 5 participants.
🧘 In a world of large retreats and groups of 20 or more, we want to preserve the feeling of a small gathering, where there is room for individual attention, genuine human connection and personal space.
🤝 You don’t need to pay twice as much for a similar retreat elsewhere, only to find yourself in a large group. Here, you can experience an intimate retreat with experienced Shipibo curanderos, an experienced facilitator and an exceptional beachfront setting.
✨ Before arrival, every participant goes through a screening and preparation process, including an online call. After the retreat, a post-retreat integration call provides an opportunity to reflect on the experience and consider how to approach the transition back into everyday life.
We see preparation and integration as important parts of the journey, not simply additions to the ceremonies.

💚 Small Groups, Personal Attention
We believe meaningful work deserves space, care and individual attention.
🧭 Responsible Preparation & Integration
Your journey begins before the retreat. We offer a preparation call, participant screening and guidance to help you prepare, followed by an integration session after the experience.
🙏 Come as You Are. Take the Time You Need.
It may be particularly appealing if you:
🌿 Feel called to explore plant medicine but prefer a comfortable coastal setting rather than traveling deep into the Amazon jungle.
🌊 Feel connected to the ocean and want to combine ceremonial nights with days spent in nature.
🧭 Are curious about your inner world and want to step away from everyday routines, slow down and make space for personal reflection.
🏄 Love adventure and the outdoors and would enjoy combining inner exploration with surfing, yoga, kitesurfing, horseback riding or other coastal activities.
🤍 Prefer intimate experiences with a small group, personal attention and space to connect with others without the intensity of a large retreat.
🌎 Are traveling solo, with your partner or with a friend and looking for a meaningful experience in Peru.
Participation is subject to screening. Ayahuasca is not suitable for everyone, and this retreat is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.
