Zee Barn bio-collective is a holistic project born out of love for living simply in balance with Mother Nature. At Zee Barn you can enjoy practices & blissiplines that nurture life in its fullness.
These practices include yoga, meditation, permaculture, & regenerative design, superfoods cultivation, forest gardens & connecting with Earth-friendly communities as well as journeying with sound and breath.

Our space is designed with various structures within a forest garden. We have a Barn that houses our yoga shala and wooden dormitory, a beautiful geodesic dome (room for 2/3 people), 2 tiny cabins for private rooms (single & double), a stand-alone kitchen, and beautiful super hygienic compost toilets & hot or cold showers.

Our food is usually prepared as per macrobiotic principles (meaning it is seasonal & prepared with a loving conscious approach while cooked in a specific way). Plant-based, organic & local homegrown.

Directions

-Arrival by bus From Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS), you can arrive by bus from Campo Grande Lisbon to Ericeira town (1 hour) and then a bus (25 minutes) or uber (12 minutes) to Barril village, Encarnacao. The Portuguese bus company's name is Mafrense. The uber can bring you straight to Zee Barn. -Arrival by taxi/uber You can arrive by Uber for 35/40 EUR directly from the airport. You can get in contact with us and we can send you the contact of an Uber that works with us.

Wonderful experience in beautiful surroundings

A very enjoyable and inspiring 4 days in a beautiful and quiet space, easy to access, and very well maintained. It was a special experience with very caring and genuine, and open-minded hosts. The yoga and meditation was especially good and the food was super. Thank you Peppi and Melania!

Amazing experience in the 4 day Yoga of Eating Retreat at Zee Barn

Just enjoyed The Yoga of Eating 4 days retreat at Zee Barn, it was my first experience of learning about permaculture and macrobiotic diets. I learnt a lot and have brought back lots of inspirations with me. Melania and Peppi are amazing hosts, their authenticities and passions running this safe and grounded place certainly reflects from their way of sharing. I would definitely recommend activities and retreats at Zee Barn to anyone who wants to learn about permaculture, macrobiotic diets, or simply want a place to connect to the Mother Earth 🌴🕷🌸🍄🫶🏻

The perfect way to switch off and tune back to nature

I really would like to thank Melania and Peppi for a truly unforgatbble weekend at their amazing Zee barn. All activities done were very professionaly executed and yet had a wholesome comfortable pace adjusted to the needs of our group. If like me, you feel lonely at times, in the way you feel about the importance of being in touch in nature and more same minded people, then I really recommend a visit and jon this community of this truly authentic, wholesome and magical place powered by nature. The tribe that Melania and Peppi are leading is a rare gift in today's materialistic dominated lifestyles. The cherry on the cake was Melania's food creations that were so tasty and satsifying that you completely forget that the food is also healthy and full of nutritions. And for that I will am very thankful. Only downside was that the weekend passed by very fast, and I look forward to be back for a longer period.

What a blessing! So grateful for the experience!

When I came to Zee Barn, I immediately felt that I have arrived. Although I know the area well, I am stunned by the bountiful nature and the variety of treasures that are being rehabilitated. At this magical place every corner offers something new to explore.
The weekend retreat was restoring and nurturing on every possible level, a perfect balance with curated experiences. Melania and Peppi are beautiful souls who gifted us with so much by sharing wisdom, knowledge and practices. They are such warm and respectful people which made me feel welcome and comfortable from the start. My mind has been inspired, but also calmed down to give me space for integration. My body feels recuperated and the delicious food was a luxury for all senses. I have gained open eyes and an open heart and I am so grateful for all the connections made with nature, animals and people!
The only downside was that a weekend goes by so quick. But I already know that this was just the start of a beautiful journey together and that I will be back. Thank you so much Melania and Peppi for every moment shared during these wonderful days!

great experience at Zee Barn

I am so happy I have met Peppi and Melania on their beautiful Land.
Staying there was super relaxing, I enjoyed every moment. Melania prepared delicious vegan and vegetarian food and her yoga classes were amazing.
I am also very thankful for all the things I could learn from Peppi. His knowledge about nature and life is very impressive.
I will definitely come back :-)
